i just talked to a guy in the mall parking lot who saw my TSX and we got talking about price. he bought his last month from Berlin, CT dealer for $27,580 BEFORE TTL. He said he did research online and thought he could get at least $1400 off MSRP or something. He said the dealer laughed at him saying no one in CT/MA will do that. So he settled and bought it from them. It does seem like New England dealers are not budging on price. He also mentioned that Executive Acura in North Haven were not pleasant to deal with, i've heard this before...

Bought from Acura of Boston last night. $26,500 for TSX MT no nav. I wasn't at all happy with what they offered for my trade-in, so I'm trying to sell that on my own. The guys there are pleasant enough to deal with, but barely budged on the original price they quoted me. Acura of Peabody seemed more eager for my business and was willing to go lower than any deal from Boston. But it would have taken over a month to get the carbon gray from Peabody. Boston is getting mine in next week, so I went with them. Their documentation fee is high though - almost $300 bucks.

someone explained to me that the cars are alloted by acura....and if one dealer sells a car, then acura can redirect the destination of a car. don't know if that's true, but that would mean peabody can get the car that boston got you.

it makes sense in a way, basically, if one dealer sells a car that's in transit to another dealer, acura forces a dealer trade. don't know if the guy was full of shit or not, but who knows?

anyways, peabody could have got the one from boston in a dealer trade probably. the dealer i bought at seemed to have good relationships with multiple dealers in nj, so he could get almost anything within a few days it seemed.

Bought my '06 CGP 6mt (non/nav) from Hendrick Acura in Charlotte for $26,500. I did a lot of research on Edmunds and had this price in mind. Went to the dealership, had a great salesman, Nick Pollicino. We get talking price and I say $26.5 "firm". He does his "talk to the manager" shpeel and agrees, in like 2 minutes!! It was a quick answer and I now wish I would have said something like $26.8 with Silver Star rims. God I want those wheels bad

Forgot to mention: I bought it on Mar 22

Wow...that's a good price. They wouldn't budge on their price last year.

I paid $27,400 for my 05 SSM non nav but then again I bought the car the same day my other car broke down. Still, pretty decent...

just bought an '06 tonight for $26,400 (non navi/AT; CG/Q) from Matt Goodson at Dave Mungenast St. Louis Acura. Negotiating went quickly and smoothly. The guys down there were great. if anyone in st. louis is interested in the TSX head on over there (Manchester) and talk with them. i will admit that i didn't go to Frank Leta on Tesson Ferry, but after doing my research on the web i wasn't concerned about getting screwed.

I've been in contact with Brad Galibert from Dave Mungenast and he had offered me a quote of 27,187. Needless to say I just shot him an email with your post in it

I've been reading the prices that people have been getting wondering why St. Louis was left of the good deals. Glad to see we're not.

Thanks alot man!!!

PWP, Ebony Int, AT w/Nav for $27,251

The color combo was hard to come by (there were only 3 dealerships in the Bay Area with one). I got it at Mike Harvey's Acura in Burlingame, CA. I had originally received this verbal quote from Hopkins Acura in Fairfield. We had to put the Hopkins dealer on speakerphone at Mike Harvey's in order to verify my quote (of course he didn't know I was at another dealership, just thought I was verifying the price for myself hehehe ) Also, the salesperson at Mike Harvey's originally wanted to cheat me out of $615 by giving it to me for $27,251 W/O destination. I told him everyone's quotes on AZ included dest and that the Hopkins dealer also quoted me WITH dest. So we had to do the whole speakerphone thing again w/ Hopkins. Anyway, I was finally able to do $27,251 incl. everything but TT+L (no accessories). I think I could have gone even lower because the guy OK'ed the deal pretty quickly after we verified it w/ the Hopkins dealer, we didn't even go back and forth. FYI for those in Norcal, the Mike Harvey salesguy's name is Brandon.

To break it down:

Price: $27,251
Doc Fee: $45
7.75% sales tax: $2115.44 (I am moving down to Irvine and registered it there)
License fees: $177
Registration fees: $63
CA Tire Fees: $8.75

OTD: $29,660.19

FYI, I was quoted at Steven's Creek for $27,471, and I began my negotiations at Mike Harvey's with them matching Steven's Creek's quote.

That's an awesome price! Mike Harvey refused to match Steve Hopkin's quote for me. Did you talk to Dan McStocker at Hopkins?

2006 PWP/Ebony AT w/ NAVI:

I got quoted $28,300 (including destination). With tax and license, it comes out to $30,892

Should I take this offer? Sounds about right for the NYC area...

After being called a "waste of time" by the finance manager at Mike Harvey Acura in Burlingame, I headed over to Autowest Acura of Stevens Creek. I am now the super happy owner of a 2006 CGP/Ebony TSX 5AT w/navi.

Breakdown:
Price: $27,577
Doc Fee: $45
8.5% sales tax : $2347.87
License + Registration: $240
CA Tire Fees: $8.75

OTD: $30218.62

This is my first post, and I figured I would ask how this deal is. I am in NJ, and I asked for a price on a basic new TSX. No options, no navigation, no anything. I was quoted 25,800 plus 189 docking fee, 250 registration, and 7.50 for some tire something or other. With a 6% sales tax that should come to 27830. That should be the out the door fee, since I asked him to tell me every fee I would need to pay before walking out the door. I have e-mailed other dealers, but simply get those cheap form letters, so I may try calling instead to see if they can beat that price.

Any other suggestions as to how to get a better deal?

Hey, i have some experience with multiple Jersey dealers. Who are you talking to? What i would do, is get that initial quote in writing. Then, call some other internet sales managers and talk to them, or even better, go see them in person. bridgewater and open road both offer to beat a written quote.

the tire fee is standard for a car that is being registered in new jersey, tire disposal fee or something. $189 is a typical documentation fee for new jersey. i can't speak to the charge for registration, because i registered as a PA vehicle.

i'll tell you this much, i had a very bad experience at springfield acura, and a not so pleasant one at ramsey acura. i purchased at open road acura of wayne, and if you want, i can give you the salesman's contact info. they were very helpful.

emailing worked for me, but it was tedious, you might be best of spending a day, scouting prices, and maybe wait until later in the month to make your deal.

contact me in private message if you want specific information.

my price was 28,300 for tsx with navi, 289 in fees, plus tax. i forget the OTD price, but i have my invoice at home.

hey spainlinx,

where did you get that quote from? i am in the market for a 2006 tsx and I have been in contact with Bridgewater Acura and Open Road Acura. That seems like an excellent price for the base model. I am looking for a 6MT with navigation so you figure that will cost about 1500 - 2000 more. The internet sales guy from bridgewater has been trying to get me to buy the car now because he says every 2006 will be gone by september. at the moment, i am currently looking to purchase this car in nov. or dec. of this year. does anyone see this as being a mistake? or will there will be 2006's left at this point?

Chicago residents will pay 9%. Suburban Cook county residents will pay 7.75% and if you live outside of Cook you pay 7%. There is a title transfer fee of $57.33, a county fee of $15.00 and new plates are $143.00 while transferring plates are $80.00.

will inquire about doc fee

thnx

Can you get a dealer to pay the TTL fees? If so, what should i look at accepting price-wise for a 2006 w/navi? I live in Chicago. I have a quote for 28,399 from Joe Rizza Acura as of now.

This quote was from Park Acura. I went there and test drove, and I liked it, but I'm hoping I can get a little better deal considering I'm not taking any options. The navigation was nice, but I'm thinking more of an aftermarket nav unit if anything.

if i were you, i'd jump on that deal now or you will end up paying an additional $250+ when the sales tax goes up in the next few weeks. i am looking to get a tsx later in the year and now it's going to cost me a few hundred extra in sales tax alone

Well, as you can see from my earlier post, I received a 28,072 before TTL and that was Muller's Woodfield. So far no one has gone lower..but I haven't asked for lower either. Not sure how to approach this just yet...

I got a quote from McGrath of Morton Grove for $28,072 as well. I also got a quote from Joe Rizza (Orland Park) for $28,399, both quotes +TTL. What do you all think as far as an OTD price, I am looking to buy in the next two weeks or so... I know a couple of you guys are as well.

Wow, if that $28,072 is an OTD for a tsx/navi...sounds good to me!! I will have to check them out as well.

Nooo, sorry for the misunderstanding, I think i got the same quote you did, because the 28k is the price before TTL (ie. not OTD). I was asking what people though was a good OTD price, I was thinking trying to get them down to 29,500 OTD.

Thumbs up

2006 TSX with NAV (Price Includes the $615 Destination Charge)

$ 28,001 - $29,000 + TTL = You need to try harder...

$27,501 - $28,000 + TTL = OK

$27,000 - $27,500 + TTL = Good deal

$26,500 - $26,999 + TTL = Great deal!

Don't worry about OTD price...

In California, SF Bay Area other fees are:
Doc fee =$45
Sales Tax 8.5% (around $2,300)
Licence and Registration fees (around $200 - $250)
Car Tire Fee $8.75

Quick Reply: What price are you paying for 2006 TSX ???
