Used car over $29,000
I was bored at work and thought I'd see how if any TSX's were out there for sale. I came across a few that were going for over original sticker!! This seems a little silly to me. I mean I know the car might be a little difficult to get, "ie limited availability", but this is crazy. See the following link to autotrader......

You know the old saying "there was one born every minute" well it applies to people who do things like that! Its not all that dissimaliar from the dumb people who were paying $50k for PT cruisers to be the first one on there block to have this car- bet they feel stupid now. Exclusivity is worth something but to me it would not be a production car that any one could get if they were willing to wait.

You should try buying a certified used BMW. I don't know what kind of crack they smoke but it must be some crazy potent German stuff because their prices are insane! A 3yr old car with 60,000km on it lists for $2000 below MSRP for a new one. I don't know who is buying these things but someone out there must be dumb enough to think they're getting a good deal. There can easily be a $10,000 difference between dealer prices and private sales when it comes to BMWs.

I think the general idea as developed over the millenia is that the salesman is supposed to say "$29,000!" and you're supposed to say "$1.95!" and the salesman shakes his head in disbelief checks with his manager a couple of times, and you feign disgust and start to walk out several times, and you all eventually come to a mutually agreed-upon figure somewhere between the wholesale value of the used car and the market price of a new one. Low enough that you're saving a couple of thousand but high enough that you're still getting screwed if you figure out what the wholesale value really is.

I used to work as a sales rep at a computer shop when I was in college. Whenever I had someone come in that wanted to haggle I would immediately start at 20% above our sticker. If they were lucky they would get me back down to the price they would have paid if they decided to walk in off the street and buy. I think people haggle for fun. It really doesn't matter if they get a deal they just want to think they got a deal.

If you don't mind chasing it, you can have a free camel out on the Sinai peninsula where they run wild. If you thought some of the accident pictures you've seen were grisly, it's nothing compared to a BMW325 hitting a camel at 90MPH - not much left of either.
But back to the topic - you'd think there would be less of this in these days of easy access to info - but I guess someone thinks they can get away with it.
