Talking The time has come!

Finally, I'm now an owner of a CG/Ebony/5AT/No Navi. Picked it up Friday and I'm near 250 miles now. First the details of the purchase, and then a brief review of my new baby.

It all began a week prior to me taking delivery. I found 3 dealers who had the car I wanted. Emailed offers of $25,300 to all 3 and only got one reply. The reply was from Acura of Troy for $25,500. I called him Monday morning and agreed on $25,500 if they threw in the protection pkg. He accepted, and we did the credit app over the phone. Friday, I went to the dealer, signed the papers and inspected the car, and was out of there in 45 minutes. The whole transaction went sooooo smooth. My salesman was everything you would ask for in a salesman. He replied to my offer within a 1/2 day. He didn't push any extra fees on me, and gave me the itemized costs and all info over the phone and email. No hidden fees, no pressure to buy anything! I didn't know car buying could be that easy and pleasurable?! So, I thank Dave from Acura of Troy. I would recommend him to anyone that may be looking for a TSX in Michigan.

Exterior: Carbon Gray... Man, it's even hotter in person! I'm loving the chrome door handles and headlights especially. When I first turned on the HID's, . On the way home from the dealer, I got a from some guy checking it out, and then a car full of chicks were . Gotta love the attention!

Interior: Ebony... . New car smell. Ahhhh. As you all know, the gauges are straight pimp! It's unbelievable how nice the interior is in this car, even without the Navi. The sound system is awesome! I've read a few people complain about it, but I've yet to see why. It sounds clear, and can pump out some good bass if needed. Love the 6 in-dash CD changer. I've used sportshift a few times and really like it. I think it'll be fun once in awhile.

Driving Experince/Engine/Tranny/Etc: I find the ride to be really smooth, at least from what I am coming from(92 Celica GT). It handles and corners surprisingly well for a 4-door. Much better than the new Altima, and better than every other 4 door I've driven. It feels tight and very responsive. The throttle kicks ass, and I'm not dissapointed with acceleration or overall speed/responsiveness at all(Again, coming from a 135hp Celica). It really pulls hard when you're in higher gears. Going against break in recommendations, I inadvertantly had it up to about 95, when I seriously thought I was doing maybe 75 mph. This car might get me in trouble with the law if I'm not careful. The tranny is super smooth and the I-Vtec is amazingly efficient. Overall, I am on cloud nine when driving. I didn't think a 4 dr could be this much fun.

To anyone considering the TSX, I urge you to test drive one. I basically bought the car before ever test driving a TSX. The first time I drove it was the day I finalized the papers and took it home. It didn't matter though...I knew the TSX was for me as soon as I sat inside it at the Detroit Auto show. For $27,200 out the door, you cannot find a better value out there.

If anyone is still reading this novel , I have a few pics posted here..

I know you got yours from Mich, and If i recall correctly youve also tried the dealers in Chicago. Congrats on your purchase. CG is definitely the best color for the TSX, but I still like my Artic Blue TSX just fine!

balata, I would not recommend any Acura dealers in the Chicago area. I had horrible stories with several of them when I looked to buy a TSX last May. They don't like to negotiate and will add all this junk to the car to increase the price. I recommend going to Acura dealers in St. Louis or Kansas City. I ended up getting my car from Superior Acura in Overland Park, Kansas! It was totally worth it, driving 10 hours to get my ABP TSX!

It's about a 4 hour drive. It's 300 miles. If you don't have a trade you could fly it for under $100.

Please go right out and buy a radar detector, if legal in
you state. This car is so competent you'll be speeding
all time and not realize it.

Do a search on breakin, there was some good info posted
recently.

We have got the top car, TSX kicks butt in every
category.

I've got a radar detector, but Im debating whether or not to put it into the TSX. I don't feel like sticking it to the windshield and having the cord hang down over all of my controls. Maybe I'll have to invest in one of those cordless ones (Solo S2). We'll see.

Balata,

I had planned on getting some quotes from Chi-town dealers, but I never had to because Ac of Troy responded so quickly with an offer I was happy with. Plus, the commute to Troy was much less hectic than a Chicago trip would have been.

Like KC 2004 TSX said, it's probably about 4 hrs from Chicago. I'm between Chicago and Troy, and each way is about 2 hrs, depending on traffic.

Good Luck! and if you do decide to try out Acura of Troy, I'd be more than happy to give you any info or #'s you need. If I remember correctly, they had another CG Auto, but it had quartz interior. From the looks of it, they also have a 6-spd CG with Ebony.

I've got the cord hanging right now, but there is simple
hardwire available, tap into the wires in the autodim rear
view mirror. I will get to that soon.

I have to do a forum search can't remember what color
wire to tap.
