What are your guys laws regarding safty check? tints? smog? and my car is slammed, is there a certain height i have to be?? alast time i went up there everyone safty check sticker was on the licenced plate, but here in hawaii some of us here have it on a safty check place which is mount on the bottom if the back bumper or is sticked on the bumper? any rule it has to be on the licence plate? thanks

The big ones I know from memory:
- Tints are 35%, sides and rear (no front).
- Front plate is required
- smog - only for vehicles over a certain age (but I forget how many, I think its around four years old or higher).

You might want to check your tires - all-seasons that are good in the rain will be much better than summer tires, unless you intend to swap with the seasons.

Welcome to Seattle!

Warning, after living in Seattle for a while, you will end up drinking way too much coffee, and starting listening to NIRVANA and PEARL JAM Hahaha.

It's seems like Portland, OR is the same. Too much coffee drinkers.

When I left the Army and moved back here I had to have my Civic inspected by the State Patrol before I could register it. It was pretty lax but I got shit for my intake. He told me that it was illegal. I promised to take it off later.

Too bad you can't leave the car registered in Hawaii. I remember in college, people from Las Vegas would leave their cars registered in Nevada. They couldn't be stopped for things that were legal there and illegal here I think (tint and whatnot). Also, cops probably figure they're just visiting, and don't want to inconvenience them by making them come back for a court date.
