Rpm

At what speed do you guys get the RPM to go to 4000 or 5000 rpm? I was at 160km/hr and I believe i was only at 3500rpm..I saw the fuel gauge sinking rather quickly and took my foot off the gas. I was pretty much stepping all the way down on the gas pedal..I am not so sure i could have gotten the TSX to go faster. Mind you..i drive an 2005 Automatic TSX..

are your experiiences similar to mine?

any input?

assuming 6th gear I cruise at 80 at 3200 so i'm guessing around 90 at 4000? Although the AT is only 5 gears, correct?

I have a 5AT and I've found that I can was actually able to achieve a higher top speed in 4th gear vs. 5th gear. I was able to hit 137 mph last week.

Yes i did put into ss gear..but i was already in 5th gear becauase i was already going over 100km/hr. So all i could do was push down on the gas pedal some more...which ate alot of gas...so i naturally let go on the gas pedal to ease up on the gas consumption.

but when i pressed down on the gas..it did not really get the rpm high up to 4000 rpm or 5000rpm

I have an MT. I'm pretty sure that at 90 I'm not up to 4k yet.

THere's something wrong with your car dude...... I have AT too....and i took it to 230km/hr no problem.....

even before break in, i took the car in D mode to 160km/hr revving under 3k.... nad it was still willing to go up..... no way should it stay at 160~
