Yeah I totally understand. I might attempt this myself from the way it looks. It seems a lot easier than the accord key mod to me. Guess I'm going to order 2 Driver 1 keys for myself...too bad estore won't ship them directly to me...I have to pick them up at the dealership errr

As before, I'm no vendor nor am I selling a product, so PM me if you would like more assistance.

I have a question......
If I want to get the switch blade as second key what do I need to buy?
1. TL key $35dollars
2. TSX blank key .....get it cut and program at dealership to start your car
do I need a TSX remote and get it program to start the car also?

The easiest thing to do is get the TL key, mod the copied TSX key into it and have the dealer program the chip and transmitter to work. It may cost you some money and the dealer may or may not even want to do it.
If you get another TSX key made, then you can just use that. Again, I haven't seen the best way to put the key in yet as I haven't done it myself. The RSX key is slightly different than ours.

Price depends on dealer. I have 3 dealers in my area. 2 of them wanted $42 and 1 wanted $35. So I placed my order for 2 yesterday...and guess what...dealer called me today and told me the TL key's are on backorder!! They don't know when my orders will process...

there's no way that the entire key/transmitter assembly is going to be $35. The transmitter by itself is going to cost me $33 (I'm picking it up tomorrow). The RDX keys are about $70 right now. Unless Honda decides to throw in a free flip key + housing + immobilizer chip when you buy a transmitter, i wouldn't count on it being $35! Their prices change as availability changes. The dealer told me the transmitter would be $26, but that was before they even had them in stock. Now they are $33.

hate to tell ya, but its really that cheap haha...my tsx key was $42 and the fob was $81! for the TL, all-in-one key/fob is only $35-50 plus tax...check the estore yourself with the sku's. Prices vary from dealer to dealer.

once someone posts up a pic of their receipt saying $35 + a pic of the tl key next to the receipt, i'll believe it.

the tl key assembly is $70.
i have bad news i tried to program both the driver1 and driver2 tl remotes today. the lock/panic buttons work fine, but the unlock button doesn't work at all...
this really sucks! i dunno what my next move is....

Here is the answer i found on a thread:

I had two remotes in front of me and few minutes to play with them. Funny, they are pretty much identical, FCC numbers, and even part numbers inside on the PCB are identical, so if you mix them, they are hard to tell apart besides the Seat 1 or Seat 2 that are printed on the back.
It tells to press Lock and Unlock simultaneously. You actually hold it for 3 seconds or more, and then you see the light blink. It either gives you one long blink or two short ones. It appears that it is toggling between seat memory option being on/off.
The trick is, once you have it turned off, it will work on your car. I don't remember which blink represents what, but if yours does not work, press and hold those two buttons (Lock and Unlock), get the blink, release them, then program the remote to your TSX, and at that point it should do everything.
Apparently when you have the seat memory option On (the default state those remotes come), there is an additional signal being sent to the vehicle to differentiate which remote it is, 1 or 2, and 04 TSX simply is not capable to distinguish the unlock signal from unlock+seat_memory signal, and therefore completely ignores it. So you end up only being able to lock, trunk and panic sice there is no seat memory signal tacked on to those buttons.
Hope this is the most complete and detailed explanation once and for all.
Cheers!

i didn't take pics of the whole process, but i'll try to do a how-to tomorrow since i have some free time.
here is a pic from "carpecervisi" on the tl forum:
you have to disassemble the remote like he did. you then have to cut straight down the center of the plastic which is around the key (parallel to the key, not perpendicular). the blank looks like this:
you then have to cut one of your keys to the same shape, and glue it all back together..... i'll get more detailed when i do the write-up

wow i can't believe i'm so dumb!
the rdx key does not have any memory setting, so there's nothing written on the back....
BUT i could have just looked at this pic of the tl remote:
and it says exactly what to do!!!!
