moda,
I have one of these keys from a '00 Volkswagen Beetle just laying here (long story). Let me know if you want me to send them your way to play around with... (for whatever random reason).

I've got an RDX key right here in my pocket if anyone needs pics of it. I know you are more interested in the TL key, but it is the same. The transmitter for the RDX key even has the empty slot of the the fourth button inside, but it is covered up and empty inside. The 07 MDX key is the same as the TL key. has the button to release the power tailgate.

I will tell you this though, the screws inside my RDX key are so freakin' tight around the spring loaded section, I haven't been able to get them out. You'd have to have a screwdriver that is matched perfectly with the screws in there in order to get them out and not destroy them.

Yes, please take a pic of the guts for me. I need a shot of the key where it attaches to the swinging mechanism. I'm less concerned about the transmitter because the RSX guys confirmed it is not going to work with them or us.

moda_way@hotmail.com when you have a chance.

Thanks.

I would, but b/c the transmitter is so different, it would be playing around for the sake of playing around. Were you trying to do the conversion?

FYI to all, still no parts from my online source. As soon as they are posted, I'm buying one. If anyone does pick an 07 TL key up, please send pics. I need to start working on this now that we have confirmation (albeit from the dealer) that they would work on the TSX.

That's pretty much what I thought you might want it for. I have no use for it. The lady who sold my gf her beetle only had one set of keys, so she gave her this "other" transmitter which she thought could be programmed or whatever. Well turns out with a Volkswagen, you gotta pretty much do everything through the dealer... keywise. So we have no use for it. I thought you would have more use for it than me.

yea so i'm the clubrsx guy everyone is talking about, lol.....

anyway, the tl key is the same with regard to:

-key
-housing (except the tl housing has a cutout for the trunk button)

and that's it! the rdx tansmitter is made by valeo! the tl one is still made by omron. a guy in the tl section was able to program a new tl remote to work with his pre-07 one, so that's good news for all of us, as the tl guys do the same accord mod that all of us do.

sasair- you're right about the screws. i was able to get the two black ones out using a small screwdriver+ vicegrip to give me leverage. the silver screw got stripped and i had to drill it out. the threads for these screws are coated in some sort of blue threadlock glue. i guess they don't want us to mod it!

i posted up some pics of my rdx key ripped apart in the tl section. modding it is not as easy as i thought it would be

i didn't "just glue it on" cause there is more to it than that... i have also test fitted the key and started the car. it works flawlessly, and is very strong.

Nice job JKautosports. I would like to get some more info from you on what all it took. I'm still waiting for my supplier to post the parts up in their database.

As it does as well for our TSX's. Just open the trunk yourselves ffs.

i don't know why it's such a big deal then lol...

but in any case, we all need to get the tl transmitter anyway, because the rdx one will not work....

OMG! I never knew that existed. I only thought the lever on the driver side was the only thing.

Does the key you modded flip/retract?? If so... pics? (if it's dry)

Hey moda_way,

Do you have the exact part number for the TL key? Driver 1 and 2...I'm searching through the estore and they have 5 sku's...

35111-SEP-306 - KEY, IMMOBILIZER & TRANSMITTER(MEMORY1) (BLANK) - $35
35111-SEP-307 - KEY, IMMOBILIZER & TRANSMITTER(MEMORY2) (BLANK) - NA - thought this was weird with no price...

35112-SNR-305 - KEY, IMMOBILIZER (SUB) - $21.70 - probably valet key?

35119-SEP-305 - KEY, IMMOBILIZER & TRANSMITTER(MEMORY1) (BLANK) - $35
35119-SEP-306 - KEY, IMMOBILIZER & TRANSMITTER(MEMORY2) (BLANK) - $35

Just wondering which set of sku's should I order...35111's or 35119's...for the 35111's, you can't order driver 2 yet due to NA on price...

thanks in advance!

I'm working on getting the TL key from a local Acura dealership. I would love to get working on this now, but my online source is very slow to update their catalog. I'll keep folks posted.

Okay guys/gals. I have 2 TL keys on order and making their way to me. For now I have to use a local supplier, but if all is good, I should be able to post a DIY next week and throw out an offer to "assist" others if requested.

greats news.. keep us posted.

so to sum it all up...
we know that the frequency will work with our cars?
all that is left is to see how we can fit our keys to the switchblade mechanism?

what are the other issues that are left to be resolved?

Frequency is a go, I will prove it out unless someone else does before me.

I'm pretty sure I know how I would do this for and OEM key and 90% okay on fitment of a copied key.

Only other issue is to figure out how to make previously modded keys fit. It may come down to scraping that key, harvesting the immobilizer chip and using a copied key. Don't know yet.

But if you've seen my other thread for the DIY, I plan to put the same diligence on this mod as well.
