That will be cool with laser cut keys. Do it and tell me how much it costs you. And how you did it. Cuz I feel like doing it too. hahaha.

CCC is exploring the fitting of a new ignition cylinder (from a USDM Accord) and keys. I'm looking at retro-fitting the current 2007 TL key with one of our current keys. Which are you referring to?

question, if the frequencies work...can't a uncut laser key be thinned out and cut to match a regular key.. I assum the uncut lasers are probably thicker so wouldn't that mean we can just thin them?

No. They are also longer and need a different profile.

2 part epoxy. Something else will need to be done for this 07 RDX/TL key mod.

I could check my local dealer, but it would be x% more. I'm not confident the key can be swapped in, but I am confident that the transmitter will work.

Looks like the ClubRSX guys found the RDX key can not be programmed since it is made by VALEO and the TL key is made by OMRON. So they couldn't program the RDX key to work, so it won't work for us either. Now we have to wait for the TL key.

It is possible, but a key cutter wouldn't have the tools required. You would need to find someone who can use a laith or similar to machine them to match. I don't think it would be extremely hard to do, just hard to find someone to do it.

You forgot 3511-SEP-307 for Driver2

Additionally, who knows when they will actually get it. When I order from my online store, I know they can ship it.

Thanks for the info.

TL Key Fob

I reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaly want this if it is possible. I just traded in an '05 Accord for an '06 TSX and I do miss my classy, all-in-one! I have always fancied the Euro keys (VW, Audi, etc), but cringe at their reliability! If this key is possible, $$$ will not be a limiting factor! (as long as it is less than $200).

They are already shipping other parts of the 07's now. Members have already purchased and recieved lights, mirrors and such from dealers. I could only assume that they can order and get the key now. At $50 its worth it just for a weekend project, working or not.

Sorry to burst either of your bubbles but it is not going to be able to be done for under $50 or even under $200 I am pretty sure. I mear you have to buy all the laser cut key sockets then you have to get the key laser cut which is not cheap t all.

But you are trying to replace the old style lock cylinder with the new cylinder and get keys cut and to the reprogramming (I wonder if you'll need a new imobilizer for the car too??) anyway, this thread is aimed at modiying the TL key only. No need to change any locks on the car. Completly different. You may want to start another thread for your mod.

Actually it can be done for under $50. Just like Rocket_man said, we are not getting a laser cut key cut and new locks installed. We are modding the key to work with our existing cylinders.

what are you going to do cut off the one part and weld your tsx key to the flip part. you cant just glue the two pieces of metal together and expect them to work and you wont be able to modify the tsx key to flip out of it like the tl key does. you are either going to have to weld the two together or change the locks.

JKautosports from rsx forum says...

also on the bright side... the mechanism that holds the key looks very similar to vw keys, and i think it will be very easy to mod it. the key is also the same length as our keys.

nice

I don't know, no one has got that far yet but that seems to be the biggest difficulty in this approach. I'd say there are probably more unknowns related to replacing the ingition and door cylinders and who knows what else. Not that this approach won't work, just seems like the harder of the two. But keep us posted on your progress.

dude...why are you saying the same thing over and over......
if moda_way can't do it with his old method it's fine...you don't have to point out that they are wrong everytime someone say "yah we can place the current key into laser cut key"....

i think this is like the 3rd time u made this comment.......
i am sorry, but not everyone is going to replace cylinder and laser cut key just for show....so cheaper the better

one can always dream rite?

I'm actually talking with the guy that has the RDX key and waiting for internal pics of it. If it looks like a simple swap, then this will be very easy to do.

That would be step 2 of my investigation... "How do I convert the USDM Accord key mod folks."
