I know most of you are going to laugh, but here is the stupid question of the week. On some of the TSX's there is a small rectangle "box" on the rear centre of the roof just above the rear windshield.

Some TSX's have it and some don't. Is that "box" for the GPS for the navi?

(I didn't know how to search for small rectangle box)

Its the factory XM antenna on the 05's It's how you can tell an 04 from and 05.

why didn't they mount it in the rear deck, isn't that where the GPS antenna is? or does the antenna have to be outdoors?

 

XM antenna works best outside the car with clear view of the southern sky (which can be limited by placing it inside the car, depending on what direction the car is going).

It's the 1/4 mile parachute that only deploys if you run sub 13's.

It's a good questions because NO Canadian TSX's have the antenna since Candian TSX's do not come with XM. Not even an option.

If you really want to buy the factory XM you might want give the Black Market a try by starting a WantToBuy thread. Some TSXers want to switch over to Sirius and might be williing to get rid of their XM. If not try a parts site like this one

Not sure if has Sirius yet though, so your only option might be XM.

They just aproved the use of XM a few months ago and I drove by the XM headquarters up hee about a month ago.

Hmmm with Canada just getting XM, I wonder if the 06's will come with it?

Failing that, I will just get the little rectangle box that has the parachute in it. Heading down some the downslopes of the Rockies you can get pretty good acceleration. LOL

it's part of the exhaust.. its located near the catalytic converter (i think, someone else can confirm).

It's near the muffler bearings...

If you have cross-drilled rear brake lines, you'll know where the VTEC is.

 

^^^Check the manual! You will see what he's talkin about if you find the brake light fluid bottle.

VTEC is hell on my mileage, thats why I uninstalled it completely. The car is much lighter without it but it won't rev as high. I'm thinking of going with a Comptech muffler bearing instead of OEM. Anybody have any experience with it?

Actually I plan to upgrade the VTEC to VTEC premium plus. The 06's come with the VTEC plus but I want to upgrade to the premium.
