OEM Stereo Map

I have done a search and found all kinds useful advice on audio upgrades, however I have been unable to find out exactly what the OEM system consists of.

Does anyone know what the complete OEM system is ? i.e. type of driver and location ?

much appreciated.

I would like to know too. Let me tell you guys how to look for the exact make and model of the equipments. Since I don't want to take apart my car... yet... You need to look for the FCC ID on the equipments. Every electronic has to be registered with the FCC and get the FCC ID. Once you get the FCC ID, you can look it up from the FCC web site.

For example, I have a Compaq computer. It comes with a CD-ROM drive. It has a Compaq part number but it doesn't say who makes it for Compaq. So, I search the FCC ID and find that it is actually made by LG of Korea.

Hope this help.

Interesting. They have the whole schematics (the whole circuit board) for my CDROM Drive.

That sounds neat.

A few messages have mentioned some details about some of the parts. Elduderino has taken apart the factory amp, for instance, and had some comments.

Apparently the head unit is made by two manufacturers depending if it's nav or not. The factory amp is by Pioneer as well as the speakers, from what I've read. The speakers are probably stamped Pioneer, but I don't recall. Search on Pioneer and TSX, and maybe something more will turn up.

What the heck, I'll go out and look at my speakers.. The rear 6x9s are marked Pioneer and rated 20w nom., 40w peak. The fronts, both the tweets (dash) and woofers (doors), are marked as made in China, but I can't see a manufacturer. The front 6.5" door speakers have really small magnets! That doesn't seem right.... But the speaker material itself doesn't look too bad (for a stock OEM speaker).

What kind of info are you looking for? If you want a diagram, in the FAQ somewhere there is a link to diagrams (wiring diagrams as well as how to take apart the interior panels).
