Question OK to leave Sideview mirror defrosters always on

Is it ok to leave the sideview mirror defrosters on during all my driving in the winter. Is there any reason to even turn it off?

I don't believe it can be good. Of course, if you only drive your TSX during 5-10 minutes every time, I guess it wouldn't be too bad, but on long stretches I wouldn't risk it.

I know it's not the same car, but a friend of mine had did this with his Passat, and they stopped heating after only a few months.. They changed it on warranty, but they warned that they wouldn't do it again, because it was a misuse.

I don't know why it's not connected to a timer like the rear defroster.

I had an Audi TT before the TSX and the mirror heaters were always on in that car; there was no switch to turn them on and off. That may or may not be relevant to the TSX, but I never had a problem with them.
IMHO, heated mirrors really should be tied into the rear defroster, with a timer.

It's a different car, but I burned out the ones in my Jetta leaving them on all the time (the remote mirror switch in the neutral position turns the heaters in the mirrors on, so you have to switch it to L or R to turn the heaters off). They were replaced under warranty, but I'd just use them when you need them.
