New car - need some help deciding!
Hey guys,
Well, the time has come that the wife's POS GM car's lease is coming to an end. As a result, we have to get her a new car. I'm DONE with GM cars, and we're thinking about getting her into an Acura. I currently have a paid off 2007 Acura TSX (CGP with Navi) and only 20k miles. We both love the car, and she's decided that she wants to get something comprable. However, we went and drove a 2009 TSX, and we both just weren't really that impressed with it. Has anyone else experienced this? We both really like my 07' TSX so much more. I think a lot of it has to do with the steering feeling.
So, we're not sure what to do here. She would ideally like to get something that is AWD (Chicago winters), so I was thinking about something like the new TL(not sure if I want to get a first year model though) or an RDX. She's also mentioned the Lexus IS 250 AWD, but I'm not sure that I really want to go that route. I've been VERY pleased with Acura and the service that I've received from the local Acura dealership.
Well, if anyone has some thoughts, that would be great. Does anyone know if there are any 08 TSX's (brand new) that are still available?
Thanks much!
Jeff

I love my 07 TSX too. It is a great car. Here is a thread about why you would not get a Lexus IS 250 AWD. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ighlight=lexus

Its really very hard to beat the technology in Subaru's AWD system. There is only one other AWD car that can transfer enough torque to the rear wheels to get it up a hil with zero traction on the front wheels. I believe its an Audi.
I have a 2008 Forester and love it.

Look around for a used 2006, or 2007, TSX. You will not see a lot of depreciation, but you will get a car that has better steering feel and weighs 160 lbs. less and, IMO, has more attractive styling than a 2009 TSX. I have a 2008 and hope that I never wreck it because I would hate the thought of having to replace it. The 2006-2008 TSX's are rare gems that will only become more scarce.
The Subarus are popular in this area (Western NC) with those that want AWD, but I don't think the styling, both interior and exterior, is anywhere near as good as the Acuras. But, the AWD drive seems to be both effective and reasonable free of maintenance concerns.
And, if AWD was a top criteria, I would also consider the SH-AWD from Acura.

There's Audi's coming out of every orifice here in Seattle. Seattle Rain + AWD = Audi's being popular I guess.
So your criteria is...
-Acura
-AWD for the Chicago Winters
I say the RDX is a good candidate.

I think the TSX handles great in the snow. I would like AWD for the snow, but I feel no need for that. You can't go wrong with another TSX especially since you said you both love it.

Hi there, first time posting. I'm experiencing a simliar issue: I can't decide on whether to get a new 2009 tsx or a certified 2007 tsx. we like the 2009 look, but worried about first time model/design issues. I've only owned 1 car and worried about used since I've been dumping repair $$$ last 2 years into my 96 accord.
