Anybody have issues with the maintenance reminder light? It used to light every 10,000 miles or so for the first few months of the lease, then one day it just stopped all together. Every time I take the car in for service they tell me the light is working fine.

I was also under the impression that the service intervals are every 10k, and the dealer says it should be every 5k. Anybody have similar issues, or know the proper service interval and the when the reminder lights up?

 

the o6 has a oil life reminder 100% to 0%-then it shows how many miles past due service is. depending on your driving is how fast the oil life goes from 100 to 0.

 

What year is your car? If you have an 04 or 05, then the normal service intervals are 10k. It's 5k for severe conditions (short trips, a lot of stop n go traffic, etc).

Not sure why the light isn't going on, though. I have noticed something similar with my 04 right now, too. I can't remember exactly when the light is supposed to come on, but I'm at 39,9xx and it's not on yet. I thought it came on well before that, but I'm not positive.

 

The light comes on 10k from your last service. Unless you had service done exactly at 30,000 your light may not be scheduled to come on yet.

Actually there's a routine somewhere in the owner's manual that lists the schedule for the light.
