World news ... and the TSX...

i've been following up with news and reading political/social articles lately,
and i'm pretty confident in the prediction that the gas price will go at least upto $3.50 in next two years.

i hate the price here in NJ/NY now, and will hate to see the gas price go up, but i love the TSX's consumption.

i just did a round trip from NJ to pittsburgh,

driving about 65~78mph for the whole trip, with AC on at 69F the whole time (6 hours and 26 minutes), my trip computer indicated ~440 miles with full tank, and i actually drove ~ 410 miles before i filled the tank again.

just something i wanted to share... my ride's been impressing me these days...

some pics (I-76 E, sunday afternoon)

There's a lot to love about the TSX, including its small gas guzzling volume.

Good job on the gas mileage though diffenently a reason to buy a TSX. I think the TSX sales are going to start increasing as gas prices start going up.

3.72 here and I fill up in the Chicago suburbs. I took the train into downtown Chicago and saw premium gas almost 4.00.

Yeah, the TSX is very fuel efficient....if you take long trips. I get over 400 miles per tank when on road trips. However, in my daily commute to work, I only get around 230 miles per tank. Maybe I should leave early each day and circle my work for a couple of hours to get my money's worth ;-P

I agree with the sentiment, even if the details were amusing ($3.50... ha! that was months ago.... any bets on how many weeks until it hits $4? last tank was around $3.79/gal)

I just paid $3.86 for Premium in Wheeling, IL Chicago is over $4 for premium.

I just picked up a Civic to go a little easier on the gas and insurance.

Let's see: It went from 3.23 to 3.61 here in about two weeks. At that rate, it will hit 4.00 in just over two more weeks. Remind me again why I didn't invest all my stock funds in Oil Companies?

My TSX gets good mileage, it's a shame it requires premium though. Just paid $3.31 in DC area.

The gas I can see. But insurance relief? I went from a civic to TSX. When I upgraded to the TSX my insurance dropped $100 a year with no change in policy riders.

Fog lights

So, how did you do the fog lights? I was very disappointed when I found out you couldn't turn the fog lights on without the head lights.

Interesting... I can easily get 440 miles to my tank w/ mixed driving (i.e., not trying to conserve gas). It's weird... ever since I switched OFF of Shell gas, which is widely recognized as one of the top quality tier brands, to Valero (not sure where they rank on the list), I've finally made the elusive "500" club --- TWICE! I used to be anal about only putting Shell gas in the ride, but I decided to try Valero since I've been seeing all their commercials on TV. I don't want to get off topic, but does anyone know anything about Valero gas?

Anyway, the gas-sipping demeanor of the TSX is just another thing to love about the ol' whip... I definitely don't baby the car!

Too bad there is no way to hurt these gas companies. Gas is a necessity like food and water for us. Unless you want to either bike, walk, run, or take the train or bus to work, but the latter 2 you still need a car or someone who brings you needs a car to get you to the train or bus stop if you live in the burbs.

There was a thing goin around where people were tryin to get everybody to not buy gas for a day, thinking that it would cost oil companies billions of dollars.
Of course, they were wrong, since everyone would just buy the gas some other day, but it pretty much shows that the oil companies have our balls in a vice

So i've been driving the car for two fill ups now.... And I am alllll city/countryside driving. Been averaging 21-22 mpg. I have been soft accelerating and quick shifting (never go above 3k rpm)....but I then realized when I did accellerate quickly and get to the right speed I actually got better mpg. So from now on I'm sticking with the lead foot, bc that seems to work better than boring baby shifting.

Just paid $3.21 in Montgomery, NJ at Shell, drove a few miles down the road to my doctor's office in Princeton, and premium at Sunoco and another station was $3.32. Glad I filled up where I did!

Gas Prices are getting rediculous. I don't really have to pay attention to it as I receive free gas as a company perk but from what I hear, it is getting a bit out of hand. (although still better than Netherlands Amsterdam, $6.48 last I heard)

About time we get a Diesel TSX over here in the states...
