Huge Dilemma

Ok many of u know i bought a 04 TSX that has a salvage title but definelty doesn't have the damage of a salvage car. My Dad has an 05 TL. He wants to trade in his car for a 05 Tahoe. He came up to me with the choice, he either trade in his TL for the Tahoe and I get the TSX, or I get the 05 TL and he has a buyer for my car for 22k and he sells my TSX then uses the money for a Tahoe. Basically Why or Why not should I go for the TL or TSX, other than the obvious, Power.

Get the TL because it (presumably) has never been in an accident. That's a big deal. You're lucky you're getting 22k for a salvage title in my book.

Considering your long drawn out story, that's the best break you've had yet, take the TL and don't worry about it anymore.

geesh TL is a heck lot of car for 16-yr-old..if yous can actually find a sucker (assuming he knows it) to buy that TSX for 22K then go for the TL

BTW if you think this is "huge dilemma" - stay tune; you aint seen nothing yet, life has got a lot more coming for ya.

Or if you realy don't like the TL and want a TSX, sell your TSX for the $22K, then sell the TL for a good amount of $$ and buy a new ('06?) TSX.

I'd do that. Or just take the TL. Whatever you do, don't keep that salvaged TSX. Sell it while you can. And please tell the potential buyer that it has a salvaged title.

Take the $22K for the TSX. It will be much easier to sell than the TL. You can always sell a year old TL and buy a TSX straight up.

Get rid of the salvage while you can! Even when if no TL involves when someone wants $22k for a salvage car, I'd get rid of it!!!! unless it has a very very very sentimental value..... my

Get the TL b/c:
1) no salvage title
2) more power
3) newer
4) more room (if you really need it)
5) bluetooth (assuming you have a phone that has bluetooth)
6) TL is a great car

i really don't think I can do it because, the insurance will be more plus the gas will be too. And I can't afford that. plus like i said it isn't a bad "salvage" title either, that guy who posted the pics of his Tboned TSX had so much more damage than mine did, and didn't even have a salvage title.

Salvage

You'll be lucky to get 15K for a salvage title, it has nothing to do with the condition of the car. People generally have difficulty getting a car financed or finding insurance coverage; banks and insurance companies don't like salvage titles. make it clear to the person you are selling it to that it does have a salvage title otherwise you can find yourself in some legal dilemmas in the future.

Say "whatever you think is best Dad. I'll be grateful for anything you give me. I'll mow the lawn every w/e and clean the pool too. I'll get all A's in school this year."

What car you drive is much less important than the dad who is buying it for you.

So since you are talking about selling your TSX, I assume it is done being worked on or pieced together? Can you post some pics, preferably from the side? I am curious to see what a salvage car looks like!

Very correct. The car is not important when compared to the dad. Moodytsx you are a high rank.

Too the young one...
Does your dad work downtown?

Downtown......another day for all the suits and ties.

You seem to have a good little plan going on there, so more power to you. I'm sure dad is just as excited as you to get the new ride. In the end, we're all the same...big kids with big toys.
