Finally replacing my ratty backup camera: Updated Suggestions?
Was digging up some threads but part numbers are long since gone. My 06 TSX has a module that was just plug and plat to replace backup camera. This one was built into my plate frame. IT came in lovely plastic chrome and didn't survive the Midwest winters very well.
I just need the camera, what have folks had good luck with? Possibly wide angle.

I'm a little skeptical of these auctions that say "ccd sensor" but are listed pretty cheaply ~$30. CCD sensors are more expensive than cmos. So I'm not sure what to make of that. The cheaper ccd auction I listed says that it's a Sony CCD. And honestly, all of these license plate cams on ebya look identical and have indentical marketing materials/installation pictures. So I wonder if it's actually the exact same camera that some sellers are listing as more or less expensive or that some sellers are lying about the specs because there's no way to check. For example, the firs ebay listing is selling it for $30 and says that the camera has 520 lines of resolution, but other sellers list the exact same looking camera with the same pictures for $60 and say that it only has 420 lines of resolution. I'd sure appreciate it if someone knowledgeable about these things could weigh in on the auctions linked above...

You may want to check out phisigbrotha backup camera thread here on the forum and on the "other" forum. No one sells the ebay wendy cam anymore, but there is this other ccd cam that people have been buying on ebay. It looks oem because it fits perfectly into the backup camera light. You can't change the leds that are in it. So you may have an issue matching the light color if you have 3rd party leds in your tail lights. Other than that, people have been happy with the quality from what I've seen. I have an extra wendy cam that is new never used that I never got around to installing on my 06 tsx if you're interested. Think I paid something like $129 for it. Either way, here's a link to the other cameras I was talking about:

I have one of those ebay auction ones - You can see the picture quality of it on the link where I'm selling my car. Truth be told, it was well worth it...install was easy and impressed with the angle. Not as great as my Lexus IS backup camera, but hey I'll take a $30 camera over the one that costs $500 for negligible difference.
