FINALLY! Progress RSB installed

Ok so after a couple of times trying to get the dam thing off, I went to pretty much the last resort and bought a nut splitter. This thing worked wonders. It was a little tricky to get it positioned on the nut, but when I did get it positioned, it split the nut right in half. The install took about 3 hours since the nut was giving us trouble after we had already split it.
My Opinion: I would recommend not even using the stupid hex key, it strips so easy. I would recommend getting a nut splitter, splitting the nut, and buying new after market end links. I bought MOOG replacement end links. They are like $17 for each side so around $35. You can get them at rockauto.com. Here are the part numbers :
RIGHT rear endlink- K90342
LEFT rear endlink- K90343
(credit goes to lvcurvs for hooking me up with those part numbers)
You also wouldnt have to worry about the RSB being too strong for the stock endlinks. Why not kill two birds with one stone? The end links also come with grease fittings.

I also took it for a little spin after the install. I was really surprised. I wasnt expecting TOO much. It was awesome. It really felt almost as if I had an AWD car, no lie. It stiffened everything up. Taking turns felt so much smoother. I know everyone has said it before, but this is really a must for anyone. Even if you arent going to do any heavy modding, just do this one, it will be well worth it.
Overall: Great upgrade, great price for what it does.

If you're going to replace the sway bar link anyway, you can also grab the stud with a pair of vice grips behind the bar (where the rubber boot is) to hold it while you wrench off the nut.

Sounds good, for a noob undergoing this installation, would you recommend it? 1-10 what would you rate the install?

Not necessarilly. You would need to get the nut off a decent amount first to have enough room for a good size pair of vice grips. Without moving the nut at all to free up some space to grab the bolt, you would only be able to fit a small pair of vice grips which will give you crappy grip.
I would say just crack the thing. With cracking it, you wouldnt even really need to two people.
For a noob, i would rate it a 2. No automotive knowledge is needed, just basic tool knowledge.

Congrats on the mod, this is for sure one of the "bang for the buck" mods.

No, there's a shoulder on the stud that seats against the bar when the nut is tight. You can clamp a pair of narrow jawed vice grips there to hold the stud while you back off the nut. I do it all the time when I'm replacing a broken sway bar endlink.

Do you do this while the car is simply on jack stands? The car must be jacked up to get a good position to have a good grip.

I work on cars on a lift, but on stands on the ground should give you plenty of room to work. Just have to work lying down under the car.

I can get pics up tomorow of the new endlinks. These will not break. There is not a chance they will, but there is a possibility that the OEM ones will. I havent heard too many stories of this happening, but it can. For $34, mine as well replace the endlinks when you replace the RSB.
