So my poor RBP is no longer pristine...
Last night, some bastard backed up ONTO my bumper, producing big scratches and scrapes (no more paint...) along most of the top edge and surface. The license was forced into the bumper producing more scuffs. The grill was scratched up, too. F***in hit and run.

I was meaning to, but haven't yet. I went to the ICBC Claim Centre yesterday morning. Total damage estimate was about $765 (repair/repaint bumper, replace grill chrome, replace license plate frame). ICBC Hit and Run deductible = $750. Throw in my private insurance and I'm "only" out $300.
On the bright side, I'm using this as an excuse to finally get my windows tinted. I was thinking 35% rears; dark, but not too dark for night driving.

The one thing I'm not sure about tinting, is that if you get a car brand new that comes with the windows tinted, is the glass itself tinted or is it also a layer on the outside?
I will be interested to hear what tinting you chose and how it goes.

I had tints done at Auto Details. I believe they are Lumar and I think 35%? (They said it's approximately the same as what most minivans have....not too dark, but dark enough so you notice the difference).
I however, am not able to recommend these guys, as I've had the car back to them once already to have issues with the tint resolved, and they still haven't been resolved. I've pretty much given up on them (mostly, it was tiny bubbles in the tint here and there...took the car back, and they re-did some of the tint, but didn't do one window that had not just air bubbles, but some sort of dust particles under the tint). They also never bothered to clean the film afterwards, leaving all their water/glue marks all over the windows.
My cousin had his RSX-S tinted at I think the same place my dad had his 3M put on. I think the place is called European Auto Tinting or something? It's off 170th in the industrial park area. I've seen some of the rides they've done, and the workmaship is quite good. My cousin tells me he sees absolutley no flaws in his tint.
That being said, I still like the tint. The 3M job looks very good since they hand-cut the film, giving them the ability to go right to the panel gaps and really custom-tailor the fit to the car. Most of the other places I went for quotes said they use a computer-run cutting machine, and that machine leaves significant margins for error. For example, my dad's 3M on his TL covers the front bumper, but as you go around to the wheel well, it stops about 5 inches short (they claim it's because the film doesn't stretch that well). However, on my car, the bumper goes all the way to the wheel well, then actually wraps into the wheel well, so you basically see no seam.
Anyway, I have some pics up on my iDisk:

Although I do like the tinted window look, I'm not quite in the market yet. It is the stories of problems with tinted window jobs that partially keeps me from making the decision

It's like finding a good painter, just picking one out of the book is kind of scary, but if a friend recommends one who has done good work for them, makes you feel much more confident of their work.

Yeah, I'm going through that with looking for a bodyshop and tint shop. I booked an appointment this morning with the bodyshop that does warranty work for a local Honda dealership (where I got my previous Honda). I figure with them being an ICBC accredited shop and having a history of warranty work on Hondas, they should know something about working with them. Too bad the soonest appt is Apr 24!!
I'm still looking around at tint ships, but it looks like I'll be tinted before my bumper's fixed.

in the 24th and a half...
Well, I just had to try to revive it one more time...1000 posts is just 34 away!
I'm just advising that we've possibly got a source for RBP spoilers on e-Bay. A GBM version has been ordered by someone and he'll report the color match. A PWP owner wasn't impressed with the color match though...
For $60, if the GBM is close, I'll probably pop for one in RBP and report in.

You know. This is one of those things that you just have to accomplish. Somehow we have to make it to 1000. It's like seeing a "stay off the grass sign". It makes you want to walk through the grass...lol. (31)

For those not watching in the Photo thread, there are now 2 well matched paints to one unmatched from burns...but the spoiler seems a little short...
Come on people...I'll push this thread to 1000 till I'm Royal Blue in the face, but...

On the bright side, I'm using this as an excuse to finally get my windows tinted. I was thinking 35% rears; dark, but not too dark for night driving.

I found an excuse to post something to help this thread to 1000!!!
On that quote, that's actually a pretty good deal although I would be surprised if it's from a Honda dealer. I had the rear bumper repainted through a Honda dealer and it costed $750. I didn't pay for this though as my roommate caught the girl who tried to run...lucky me. The unfortunate part is that the day after I got the bumper repainted, someone backed into my FRONT bumper in an underground mall lot. I parked in the most carefully picked possible (1.5 car widths space) and I just have no idea how someone could be that crappy of a driver...
But $765 for everything is really good. Hope your car is back to perfect now!

Posting slut status confirmed...page 40 reached...24 posts to go. Those who checked the rburns link might have noticed he's mislabeled the color as "B536M" instead of "B536P", but he has confirmed that's an oversight.

Well 1Louder got his rburns spoiler and installed it. The color match is good (about 95%) for GBM but not perfect. the length is, indeed, about 1/2" short on both ends.
I'm gonna go ahead and try the RBP spoiler out...report to follow...it'll push us toward 1000!

Update...rburns spoiler arrived today, but I cannot report about it . The box it was in was so destroyed by FedEx I refused it. You cannot open it and then refuse it, so when I could see creases where it had been bent in half , I elected to refuse it. Details to follow...
