Excited - Royal Blue Pearl - "It looks like a jewel"

A Christmas miracle, my RBP TSX did arrive today. When we arrived at the dealers to pick it up, it was parked outside and my wife's first comments were that: "It looks like a jewel". The colour is amazing.

I had planned to have a chance to go home and get my camera between dropping off toys and food at various houses but it took longer than I thought and I did not have my camera with me so I was unable to take any pictures in the daylight.

I will leave first impressions until tomorrow. As soon as I arrived home, company came over and I have had little chance to play with it. All I can say is that I am estatic. I have set up the home link for the garage door and have paired up the car with my bluetooth phone.

Here are some pictures. Check out the wheels. Tomorrow I will take some daylight pictures so you can appreciate the colour a little better and I will give my first impressions. My company is hollering for me so I have to get back.

Merry Christmas and here are the pics:

I think those are just some 17" Motegi's that he's using for a winter setup...

Excited,

Way to go, glad you finally have the car, the color looks great and I like the wheels too. Please be sure to post your driving impressions when you have a chance to take her for a good spin!

This is a fantastic car and you WILL NOT regret your purchase.

I'm not jealous. I'm really happy that excited finally got his new ride and it's a RBP.
It's just that there have been so many posts after I posted so many RBP pix where people are asking "how come there are no RBP pix" or saying "I wish someone would post RBP pix". Makes me think I'm invisible and nobody cares.

Maybe I should become a JDM whore so I can get troutslapped.

My company finally left. So I can answer a few posts.

As amadeous303 answered, they are my winter wheels, 17" Motegi's. I actually really like them. My OEM's are bagged up and I haven't seen them yet.

Thanks everyone for the congrats. I will keep the pics coming.

The Royal Blue Pearl is a great colour. Fate brought me to it and I am very happy that it did.

Swirlie, I know that we have several other threads on the colour, I guess sometimes see a thread for the first time. We can rejoice in both having a great colour.

Yea, it's pretty good not having the front plate. I think that the best view of the TSX is from the front and it keeps it very clean looking. One's eye can enjoy the uniterrupted lines of the TSX.

There is a lot to learn with all of the different things the TSX has with the navi, bluetooth and other features. I will be spending much of Sunday learning it.

I will post my first impressions later on Sunday.

Congrats, Excited! I know how long you've waited and suffered. I'm sure you will feel it was well worth the wait. As for color, just yesterday, I was finally able to look at a RBP also. It's pretty and definitely among my final contestants, but since my last car was nearly the same, I will go for a "new look" and get a GBM. Well if you are ever down in Southern California, we can go for a spin and see which *color* is fastest!

I will be taking pictures throughout the day to try and capture the different colours that RBP can display. The following pictures were taken in very strong light with the sun very low in the sky. The face on views make the colour look very dark, the rear view captures more of the blue.

Just some preliminary first impressions because I am still learning lots about car and so far have only driven it like an 80 year old grandmother.

Wife's first impression was: "It looks like a jewel."

Wife's second impression while she sat in the back seat as the salesman showed me things were: " Boy this back seat is comfortable and there is lots of room"

She hasn't been in the car yet while driving so that is it for her impressions.

My impressions in not any particular order are:

"Man I love that blue"

"These HID lights are incredible and I will never buy another vehicle without them."

"The cockpit is like a jet fighter"

When I first drove away in the TSX I thought that the seats felt a little firmer than I remembered in the test drive car, but I didn't think that they were too firm and this morning when I took it for a short spin they felt just right.

Someone commented on how the controls for the side mirrors weren't intuitive, but I found them to make perfect sense and were very logical and easy to use.

There is a lot to learn if one is a first time TSX owner with Navi and the bluetooth. But I am going to have fun learning.

I think that stero sounds very, very good. I'm not one for giant bass that people can hear down at the other end of the block. To my old ears I really enjoy the sounds. All of the controls are very logical.

I didn't have any trouble pairing my Motorola V70 phone to the TSX and mine does show the battery and signal strenght in the info display. I had a little trouble learning some of the commands, but I eventually got it.

Power - so far driving as a grandmother I haven't really tested it, but on my short spin this morning I accelerated a little bit from a stop sign and was shocked to see how fast I was going. I will really have to watch the speedometer for the first little while because it is sneaky fast.

Handling - haven't really tested it yet.

Controls - they all seem to be in the perfect place.

Interior lighting and gauges - I love the look of the interior of the TSX, especially at night. The displays and the interior lighting are great. The map lights are strong which is super.

So far I love it. I give it a 9 out of 10. The only reason I don't give it a 10 is because I have lots to learn yet and I want to leave room to bump up my opinion.

Nice pics and write up...moooooore...

Excited - Did you get any extras did you get for your TSX, like a trunk tray etc and what did you think it was worth it? Did the mudguards come standard?

The four mudguards came standard right from Acura. They were on when it came off of the truck. (Same with the block heater). I'm not going to put side skirts on so they will help prtect my car and I think that they looked great with the RBP.

I did get the trunk tray and although I haven't really used it yet it seems like it will be well worth it, especially when I put my dirty golf shoes in it during the summer. ( or any other item that gives off debris) I would give two thumbs up for the trunk tray.

I got the all weather mats as well. Haven't put them to the test yet. Although my pictures show a skiff of snow on the ground, all of the paved surfaces are clean. I will have to wait to give them a fair rating.

I got the Acura plus 6 year, 160,000 km warranty. I know some people will say that the extended warranties are a rip off, I just consider it "peace of mind" like any other insurance. The wheel and tire protection part of it sold me on it.

I got the clear bra. It is great. I don't think that you can tell that it is there from any of the pictures I have taken and to be honest I had forgotten about it. In my next set of pictures I will try and take one that shows the line. I give the clear bra two thumbs up.

I also got the rust proofing/paint and leather protection. Lots of people will argue that these are rip offs and money makers for the dealers, but once again for me it is "peace of mind".

I hope that helps.

Beautiful color. I am quickly warming up to the new front fascia as a whole.

Is that your real license plate? If so, how did you get it so quickly?

HIDs are amazing. I love that highly defined line between light and no light.

I was out on the highway yesterday and I broke 100km/h. Oops! Darn that break-in. It's fun how quickly 120 comes up even at part throttle. Man, I'm gonna have to get used to getting into 6th gear. I know reverse is locked out, but I'm still nervous about hitting it.
