Like the topic says: The dealer can not find ANY '06 manual transmission TSXs with Navi in California. He also says that he does not expect to see any for another two months. I called another dealer and I got a similar story. Is this correct? Has anybody special ordered their car? experience?

 

Yeah you can special order it and it takes a couple months.

 

Odds are, all of the ones coming in the next couple of months are already spoken for and so you will have to wait your turn. If you put in a request for one now, the next one that is allocated to Cali and isn't already spoken for will be yours. Most likely, this will take a couple months before one in the exact combo you want will arrive.

 

Ordered late Dec '05, delivered late March '06 so you're looking at maybe 3 months wait?

I just ran a dealer locate for you, there are 29 TSX 6-Spd Navi's on the lot at dealers in California. (I am a dealer in New England, but I can check any state)

What color you want? I can check secific colors and let you know what dealer has them.

 

The dealer is full of it and just told you that because he wanted to sell you the car today.

My dealer in Weir Canyon Acura (Orange County) has a brand new 2006 dark grey manual TSX sitting on the lot as of 3 days ago.

If I were you I wouldnt buy from that dealer. I hate it when they lie to customers just to make a sale.

 

I wanted a white w/ black int 6sp w/ navi but I had to wait 3 months so i decided to get the silver that the dealer had

 

I dont get why a dealer would do this. A dealer trade is easy to do, so why lose the sale?

I think they just dont take people seriously over the phone.

Hey gsrthomas, Weir Canyon Acura is the dealer I go to, I live just down the street from there. I actually just drove past there yesterday and probably saw the same dark gray 06 sitting out front. What year and color TSX do you drive? I might of seen you around.

I totally trusted Weir Canyon Acura, they wouldn't of been stupid to tell me there were none around. They told me they didn't have any CG 06 AT at the time I first went looking but called me a few days later to say they got one from another dealer, and it was on the lot for me to see. The rest is history !

 

I actually visited and test drove at one dealer and that is where I got the original information. I called the second dealer to confirm.

I'm buying when I get back from vacation which is the second week of May. My choice is Black on Black.

We don't dealer trade here (no one to trade with) but i believe you lose the holdback when you do.

My age should not make a difference to you or the dealer, but since you seem to care so much I'm 30. I went to the dealership with my wife at 7:00 on a Wednesday night, it's not like I was kicking tires on a Saturday afternoon.

 

It tooks me 3 months of wating to get my Silver 2006 6MT Navi. I think I got a good price on it as well at $28,250 with cargo net, wheel locks, and trunk tray.

 

Nope....we still get the holdback when we swap.

wow....there are only 14 TSX 6-spd NON-navi in all of TX. and none of them Arctic Blue. Only Black, Carbon, and Alabaster!!! weird.

 

Just trying to get to the bottom of why 2 dealers would tell you they have none available when in fact many dealers around you do.

I dont know what planet you live on, but age, ethniticity etc. is always a factor when it comes to car sales. Just read some of the dealer encounters here from some of the +-20 year olds.

 

About what I expected, that's why I had to special order one!

N8dog82 or Colin, the 6M seems hard to get in the TSX's. Is it that Acura doesn't produce many and/or are they just not big sellers?

The dealer you talked to must have just put down their crack pipe. I'm looking to get into '06 Black/Black TSX 6MT Base and the few that I called in the SF bay area told me all they had in that color combo was w/ NAVI!

 

Probably a self fulfilling prophesies. They don't make too many, so we don't sell too many. It’s hard to say if its "production limited" or "demand limited". If I had to go out on a limb, I'd say sales are limited by demand for manuals. Remember we're enthusiasts here, there are probably a disproportionate number of manuals here.

 

That's a prime example of why a lot of dealers LOOSE sales. Why does it matter who the certified check comes from???? A sale is a sale, take it or leave it....



IMO...they told him that so he would buy what he had then and there. The other dealer was probably just to lazy to look it up and was going to pull the same thing if he came in to look.

 

NONE!!!... only three cars in both states. 2 Glacier Blue/quartz and 1 Alabaster/quartz

 

Dealer is just probably too lazy to do a dealer trade. Just a guess.

BTW, just because you see a new on ein the lot does not mean it's not pre-sold.
