climate control question

Hope this is not being asked or a FAQ.

Does anyone know whether the auto climate control also control the humidity inside the car? Or it just control the temperature?

The reason I asked because it feel much more comfortable than my old 1992 vehicle without auto climate control.

Thanks!

i don't know but acc will keep a/c on all the time, this will remove moist in the air.

yeah it's pretty lame... the a/c is always on. there is a procedure that you can override the a/c when defrosting but I don't know the sequence for the TSX. There are links to the sequence to override the a/c for a civic (doesn't work for civic hybrid which sucks). I'm sure somebody here will know the sequence to allow for the a/c to be overriden. I think I started a link on this site about this... if not it's on another TSX board.

The A/C is on all the time if your defroster is on, but just using climate control I think it goes on and off. Don't know if the climate control measures humidity, my guess would be just temperature.

i can hear the compressor's noise even when i set the temp to hi in cold cold morning cold start. this is a bad design, i want a/c off when i am warming up the car... i am thinking of putting a switch on the a/c fuse so i can switch it on and off but don't know if this will cause other problem. but remember running a/c at least once a month to lubricate the compressor.

Why add a switch? Why not just hit the "A/C" button that switches it on/off rather than leaving it in auto mode? Even though the car has climate control, you still have full control to turn anything on/off if you want to override it. Seems silly to add a switch to do the same thing as the button right there on the controls!

whenever i start the acc, the a/c kick in, then i need to turn a/c off, if i don't want a/c then i need to left it on all the time, it is blowing cold air in sub-0 temp when i am starting/warming the car, and it cause more wear

i recall a/c start after car are fully warm up is a better idea.

That's odd, my climate control doesn't start blowing air in the cold until it's warm. Do you have your defoster on? If so, that's why, if not, sounds like you should have the dealer check it out.

I think the confusion here is that there is no way of getting rid of the A/C when you are using the defroster. I think this is a poor design... especially in the winter month where the air is dry and cold... just heat will do fine. No need for a/c to be on under these conditions which is pretty much all of winter... (not talking about snowy or wet conditions here).

The only way to have the AC not run when air is directed towards the windshield is too run the system in "mix" mode, with air going to the defrost vents and to the floor.

I can't believe how fast the front defogger works. It's litterally 5-10 seconds before the window is clear.

It's not the same for my TSX. I can shut off the a/c just by hitting the a/c button when the car is in defrost mode.

Exactly. Sometimes I'll put the air up on top (front window vent) and turn off the A/C. By "Default" the A/C turns on, but I just push the A/C button and it turns off.
