The other thread dealing with this, kind of got hi-jacked, not that I had anything to do with that, so I thought that I would get it back on Topic. What I could gleen off of that thread was the following summary of 06 costs including destination charges.

Auto with navi:

Tintin - $39,000
Felix - $39,930
Excited - pending

6MT without Navi:

Swirlie - $35,688
helraiser - $36,300

Hello Fellow Canadians:

I thought I'd make a plug for the "Automobile Protection Association" who helped me a great deal in getting factual and substantiated details on invoice prices. They also have pre-negotiated prices on cars.

I put a deposit on an '06 RBP 6MT with Nav today and am very comfortable with the price paid because I had all the information I could ask for. Normally I hate car dealers and think that I'm being ripped off - whether it is true or not!

The mark-up was about a 1/3 of what it would have been if I'd paid MSRP. This was the same as the pre-negotiated price.

This is what I got for $42,668.84

The TSX with AT and navi (lol)
floor mats
all weather floor mats
wheel locks
four mud guards
freight pdi
full tank of gas
block heater
first two services free
yachimec preferred customer card
2 way starter
trunk tray
bronze protection package with rock guard
and the clincher an Acura hat and a bottle of Lexol leather protection

I also got the Acura Plus extended warranty for $1416.

Got a little bit off the price, but I'm sure most will get a better deal.

I got about $1300 off of the options that's where I got down to the $40,300 which I said was hard to fiqure out exactly.

By 2 Way starter you mean remote start, right? Did you buy that on your own from some place and have the Westside dudes install it? Or did they just get one and install it for you? Does it have any additional features (like additional security sensors...like impact sensors?)

I got it through Westside Acura and they always deal with Powersource Performance. I checked them out and spoke with them a couple of times before choosing to get it.

Powersource Performance Inc
15803 116 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T5M 3W1
(780) 452-3662

They are top notch. They are not the cheapest but are one of the best. The model that I got was the Nustart nu4000. It is just a remote starter and does not have any extra alarm features that I am aware of.

It does not require the valet key to be hidden away in the car. It has worked very well and I am very pleased with it.

It's a long story, but ASM was my first choice. Great colour. Fate brought me to RBP which I love.

Unspectacular photos are welcomed as well, especially of ASM (and of course RBP)

The deal was through a broker we've used in the past. He's pretty price competitive -- I ended up getting the car from North Shore Acura.

David Muny - Just to confirm, did the $36,200 include freight/pdi aswell as the 5AT?

I'm off to the dealer this morning to talk numbers, and after my wife drives the car (likely this weekend), I can see us putting in our offer.

Thank you for all your posts.

gdcwatt, yes it was $36,200 inclusive of freight/pdi, plus PST/GST. My out the door price was $41,268 which I believe to be pretty decent. 5AT, No Navi, Silver.

Hey guys.

I still did not purchase my TSX
But i was talking to an Acura dealer in Ontario, and told me that he can get me a 06 5AT with navi for 37k. the only catch, it has a few hundred clicks on. (demo, but baaaarely used demo)
he said he can knock couple of hundreds, so i am looking at high 36k( freight/pdi included)

Is it worth it saving the 2G's for a sliiiightly used car?

In my opinion yes, that's a good saving, that's a $40,000 car.

I agreed on a price with my dealer today for a 2006 6MT, No-Navi, broken down as follows:

Car: 33,870.56
Freight, PDI: 1,430
Air: 100
Tire: 20
GST: 2,479.44

TOTAL OTD: 37, 900

I negotiated the final price only, including all fees, taxes, etc. That works out to $843 over invoice, which is a $2,029 discount.

Sooo....how'd I do?

thats the main reason why i did not buy the tSX yet excited.
i am 24 years old, and i do not want to be in debt.
i have roughly 20k that i can put in, and i would be financing the rest. thats why i am trying to find the best possible deal. and i know i can find a lot cheaper cars out there, but i have a thing for the TSX. (even if i have to work over-time, its worth it!)

Your very wise to advoid excessive debt. Debt is certainly a downward spiral if you are not careful. Hopefully this post as it grows will help show the limits of the car deals that are available.

The TSX is a fantastic car. The best that I have ever owned. (It took me 50 years to get it.)
