Yeah, that's it, but I bought it from here:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...B:EOIBSA:CA:11

Was just over CDN$200 after all the taxes.

edit: just realized i bought it more than 2 weeks before I took possession of my car heh.

Cdn tire actually carries a lot of aftermarket items. It looks like they carry Eibach Springs but not the Tiens.

Is the ride exactly the same?

yup, ride's the same. that's one thing that was really important to me. i've had cars where I got low profile tires and the ride gets really rough after. not here. no change in the ride comfort. handling is just a lil' better but I still need a RSB to stop the rear from swinging out too much.

the ride's in the shop right now getting the trailer hitch hooked on. can't wait to get her back. first time i've gone a day without her since i took delivery.

Okay forgive my ignorance, (and what the hec, no one is posting any new prices at the monent) does the RSB replace an existing one? If not, does it bolt on or does it have to have brackets welded on?

Thanks

s'all good. from what i've read it just bolts on. the progress rsb bends in all the right places so it doesn't rub up against the exhaust unlike the comptech RSB. I don't know about the ones canadian tire's driverfx sells or if they have one even.

Cheers!

Well this has got to be the most expensive trailer hitch ever.

$1100 - Hitch + shipping
$134 - Import dutiies
$538 - Dealer's service charge ($84/hr labour + wiring harness)

Grand total of $1772 for this hitch, just so I can tow around my bike. ouch! Still, it's uber sexy and you can't even tell it's there! Crappy picture quality cuz I used my phone.

Looks good. I have never seen a hidden hitch like that.

It does seem like a lot for a hitch but I guess that's what it cost to get what you want. I hate those import duties. They sure make buying from the States less attractive.

i actually bought this from the UK, where everything costs the same as it does here locally except CDN$2.5 = GBP1

It trully is a hidden hitch as you don't know it's there unless you remove the cover and then open the trunk to get the ball and attach it. I put it on today and it's solid. Stood on the ball and bounced up and down, no rattles at all. Still, I know the real test isn't till I toss on a yet to buy trailer and then see how much it drops especially with the 1" loss. Hopefully not by much!

I am finding great info in this forum!

On a quote I got today from my Regina Acura dealer, it lists something called "window etching" at $299 (we didn't ask for this). Is this the same as the 5 yr theft protection? Is this worth getting?

The dealer was talking about extra window tinting for $299. Is this an attractive or usefull or common option to get? (He was willing to throw it in...but I think there are better option they could throw in).

Are the locking wheel Nuts worth getting...if they don't through them in?

My freight and PDI quote is $1,430...but I thought in the other vehicles I bought that the block heater was included in PDI...but on this quote they've added an extra $170.00.

Lastly, is it easy to get them to wave other fees like environmental levies ($100)?

As it stands, the quote I have is still way over 36,200 some of you are getting in Vancouver. The quote is $37,750 (tsx, AT, w/o Nav, fr/pdi, block heater, locking wheel nuts, rear splash guards, window etching, environmental levies, air con tax) + GST/PST.

I'd appreciate any advice...

Heya About_to_plunge, Welcome to the forum!

According to the other Canadians here who have purchased a TSX you can get a lot 'thrown' in when closing the deal. Many ppl have gotten wheel nuts, rear splash guards, etc included. You just have to be able to negotiate really well, or if you can try other Acura dealers (as they are all different and compete against each other).
I do believe that $300 for tinting your window is VERY expensive, especially if you do not care much for it. Any decent window shop or car tuner place can tint them with lifetime warrenty for cheaper than that.(atleast here in montreal)
...I am sorry i really do not know what "window etching" is.

Good luck

Hmmm I don't know quite what to say. Your dealer operate a lot differently tham mine. The wheel lock nuts, four splash guards, floor mats, block heater were all thrown in from my dealer.

Good options to get are the cargo tray, all weather mats and a clear bra. I wasn't very good at getting a fantastic price. It seems like going through a broker is a good way to get a great price.

Odd, i bought my car from the same dealer - Dilawri Acura right? I goot the splash guards, bloock heater, wheel locks, floor mats tossed in. I didn't deal as hard as I could in retrospect or I'd've gotten a bunch more and for a lot less.

Watch out for the tire warranty. They say it's included, yah, included in the "extras" payment. I'm still fighting to get it removed. My package policy covers my tires so I don't need anything extra.

The window tint is extremely high. You can get a tint job, professionally done, for $150 or less for all 3 rear windows, installed!

One thing you should go for is the hood protector (3M film or Protection One film.) I'm not sure how much they charge but it'll protect your hood from stone chips.

Try getting the carcostcanada.com price on the car and go in and tell him that's what you want to negotiate around not the sticker price. You really need to haggle with them and have them explain EVERY thing as that's how I got stuck with this tire warranty (worth $400 btw.) BTW, last time I chcked the sticker price on the car was $37300 or so. Absolutely do not let them sell you anything extra, just go in with the price you want and tell them "that price plus taxes, no extra warranties, parts, nada."

The TSX comes fully featured and you won't need anything extra short of the hood protection most likely. Anything else you want will be cheaper buying from 3rd party and not from the dealer. You can tell 'em your friend in S'toon bought his in Dec and only paid $36300+tax+enviro fees/etc. You want better!

Everything I've read about window etching basically says don't let the dealer do it. $299 is waaaay too much. You can get DIY kits for about $20USD. As suggested by an old thread here (), read through CarBuyingTips.com. It's badly made and confusingly organized (whoever made that site sucks at web design), but it has a lot of interesting information. I found a Canadian company that sells the Window Etching kits for pretty cheap, too.
IIRC, Window Etching etches the vehicle's VIN onto some of the windows, so if the car is stolen, some of the "pricier" parts will be marked.

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ht=negotiating

I can't seem to find the thread I'm thinking of. I'll check my email history at home. The link should still be in there.

Again, this is awesome info...thanks

Yes, it is Dilawri Acura I'm dealing with and when I go back in, I'll be much better educated thanks to you all.

Even though it seems from Robbo46's post that the invoice price is 33,027 for the MT TSX (therefore, about $1300 more for the AT), I think I'll get a report from carcostcanada.com anyway just to go in with some concrete documentation.

Thanks Again.

So its goodbye to the 04 TL 6MT... Anyone want to buy some DVD-As?

Just pulled the trigger on a '06 6MT no-navi carbon grey.
I paid 35,633 (including fr, pdi, air and gas charges). Wasn't hard. I had the carcostcanada numbers to back up the deal. Not really any extras. Got the wheel nuts (and likely a bottle of wine from the sales guy).

Congrats on your purchase. I'm really realizing that I'm still pretty naive when it comes to buying a car that I really want. I tend to order them before the model is built hence putting me at a disadvantage.

What made you switch from the TL to the TSX?

2+ years ago, I was coming from a 00 Integra. I drove the TL and the TSX. It was a hard decision. At the time I was swayed by the power and refinement of the TL. And of course all the toys - DVD-A, bluetooth, memory seats etc. I've come to realize I miss the "fun" factor of the Integra and other sports cars I have had in my earlier days. I also didn't care for the torque steer that the TL exhibits when accelerating on uneven pavement. (I guess we don't ahve to worry about that with the TSX) At this point I looked at the RSX and TSX and thought the TSX would be the best compromise. Who knows, maybe I'll do the a-spec suspension thing at some point. I will definitely add a lip-spoiler (my TL has one).

I kinda think that it's cauz in Ontario, the competition is much worse than us in BC here. Here,I don't know Acura, but for Lexus, everywhere has sort of the same price. We don't give "bottom lines"or "best we can do".There are 4 Lexus dealerships in Vancouver,a person would shop all 4 and get the same discount and feel stupid that he shopped that much but no go.However for Acura, richmond acura has the reputation for "drop the pants".That's how they achieve the No.1 Volume in western canada since the opening.
I remembered that last week I went there and kinda wanna test the water.I met a sales guy there and had a chat with him.At last moment,he said:"well,if you can bring your wife here,I will give you,humm,2000 after tax discount for starting point,we go from there".....

Well, you are right I didn't remember the number correctly. However in my defence, his number was very close to being at or below invoice. According to the numbers I got from Car Cost Canada, he is only $81 above invoice (Invoice according to CCC is $35,754 including Freight and Air Tax).

But, an excellent price still!
