any experiences with light-weight batteries?

hey fellas, just a couple quick questions:

1) has anybody here installed a light weight battery in their tsx? (braille, nrg cell, buddy club, etc.)

2) if so, what are your experiences? (fitment issues, insufficient power, etc.)

cheers,
vinny

hello.

I have.

I've installed a Braille in my TSX.
B 3121C

with the stock airbox or with a CT icebox, the fit isn't good.
not the way I want to mount it anyway (on it's side).
but it's basically a cube, so standing up it doesn't fit too well either.
it fit, on an angle, but not straight on.

I ran it for a while to test it out, and it worked great. never had any
problems with anything at all. I took it back out though, awaiting my
Mugen intake coming soon. It should fit fine I think with that in.

I need to make a custom battery tray and tie down system for it,
which isn't too big of a deal, but it might be for some who don't have
any access to a machine shop.

as far as performance, it seemed good for a short term test.

thanks for the input!

my primary concern at this point would have to be fitment ... i don't want to have to make custom brackets, etc.

braille offers some mounting solutions for their batteries that should aid the installation.

i'm so regretting getting a battery at autozone or advance auto parts (forget which one). i kind of had no choice because i couldn't go any longer without the tsx. marcus you do have some nice solutions on your site as well as some competitive prices! i'm sure i'll ditch this heavy battery sooner or later ...

I'm rocking a yellow Autozone battery that I put in back in March when my OEM finally gave up the ghost. Whenever this Autozone goes, I'll be picking up a Braille from Marcus. Hell, I may pick one up just for the hell of it. This yellow battery is mad ugly.

You guys wont need the 3121. You can get a smaller one and be fine.

You will need to make sure you don't sit with the radio on or anything cuz that will kill the battery.

marcus, have you test fitted any braille batteries w/ the subsequent braille tie downs/rods yet? if so, what setup seems to fit best?

Have not had the opportunity to be honest. But by the specs I'd say the B2015/B2015C or B14115/ B14115C would be more than adequate for starting duties. The FRP mount kit should hold everything down well enough using stock mounting locations:

We've used Buddy Club and Odyssey. So far we have had the best experience with the Odyssey battery. The PC680MJ or MJT is the best bet for you guys.
