Acura's recommanded maintenance schdule.

How many of you follow it?
Every several thousand miles, acura has their "intermediate" and "major" maintenance schdule. how many of you follow it and dont let another mile go by before getting them checked/done?

I semi-follow it.

4980 mi. - oil change
10600 mi. - oil change (Mobil 1), tire rotation, inspect, lube, etc.

Currently around 11000mi. Now that I have Mobil 1 I don't plan to do another oil change until 20K mi. or 1 year, whichever comes first.

I use the maintenance schedule as a guide only, but I don't necessarily follow everything listed. I might do more or I might do less.

Why not just go the full 5000?

I'm a little more agressive. I use Mobil 1 and change every 4500 miles.

I don't follow the oil change schedule because of habit. I do follow the schedule for Cabin filter, air filter (now a K&N so yearly), and I rotate tires on my own schedule.

As you probably already know, I haven't been able to follow the brake schedule b/c of what I'll call cheaper materials at the OEM level.

Do you guys go to the dealership to do your first oil change? They're offering a $26 oil change and other little stuff. I think I'll go there since I also need them to buff out a scratch they made on my last service trip.

Yes, I take it to the dealership. With on-line coupon its $24, without its $29. That way the maintenance services are in the "system" and its worth the extra few bucks to me.

No. But I got a pretty good deal on it.

Does anyone know how to check "the system?" I took it to the dealer on the weekend for my first oil change (first maintanance of any type, actually). I went to Owners Link and was hoping to see a service record there but I guess it's not linked. I manually inputted it myself

It's not linked to the owners link. You can input it into the owners link so that you can keep track of it yourself. That way the owners link will remind you when it's time for the next service.

The good thing about taking it to the dealer for maintenance is that if anything happens in the future, for sure they can't blame it on lack of maintenance. Or if you go to sell your car in the future, you can get a summary of all of the maintenance done on the car.

In the US it's usually the first one is free. There's actually one dealer that's actually kind of far from everyone. They do free oil changes for life... but i bet their cars are more expensive too. I can't imagine anyone driving that far just to get a free oil change. I mean... gas is expensive too... plus you've gotta spend time to drive there, wait for the oil change, and drive back... to me, no worth it.
