Acura's Key fob sucks...already
I just got my car yesterday 06 CG blk. int. So i had to give my keys to the valet so they can park my car at my friends apt. on miami beach. I get the keys back and the paint is comming off and its all scratched up. Even when the dealer was putting the key chain on it scratched. The keys suck. thats the only thing i hate about my new TSX. The remote is painted with very cheap silver paint. If next year or whenever they come out with a new key fob would i ever be able to switch them? And how much do you think it would cost.

I will chime in with they are cheaply made. The driver 1 one (the one I use) is got a lot of the paint missing and is all scratched up. Does anyone know how much a new one cost?

Check out this link and go to the bottom of the page, it's called "Leather Remote Holder". It's about $6.

After seeing my mom's MDX keys of which she's had from 2002, I always knew the fob's had terrible paint quality. Knowing this, I had separate key holders. One for the house, one for the car. Works like a charm. =]

Do you keep the keys in separate pockets too? I dunno, that'd be too weird for me, to dedicate a pocket to nothing but 1 car key and 1 fob. I need a cover or two! (And spray painting sounds like a mess, but once it reachs some sort of critical mass where it's all scratched up, I suppose anything would look better. )

The 2006 Honda Civic key FOB is laser cut and has this feature!!
Its a simple upgrade and Acura should of done it for 04+ models.
They are probably just waiting for the redesign that is coming out soon. But still kind of sad that a $15k car has it and a $30k car doesnt.

I have always separated my house keys from my car keys. However, the Acura TSX keys are so easily scratched whereever I keep them. I only had my TSX for almost a month now and, my TSX keys look worse than my 8 1/2 year old keys for my Sport Explorer.
