2006 TSX switchblade. How? Recommendation?
My first post! I just got a 2006 TSX and I wanted to get the switchblade type key that is in the new Acura’s.
Yes I know there are many other threads about the switchblade key but I couldn’t find anything recent.
So to my understanding is that you buy the key and then you have to get it cut, like any other key you would need to make a duplicate of. Then your suppose to program it. And that’s about it? Right?
I asked the dealership they had no idea all they said they could see if they can do it and said they are not sure if the switchblade key I would buy can fit into their machine. Also they said it be about $60 for programming. I was just thinking about calling up locksmiths and getting a price that be cheaper.
But I wanted to know are there any recommendations to what key I should get or from where (website). I was looking at eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/04-08-ACURA-TSX-SMART-STYLE-FLIP-TRANSPONDER-CHIP-KEYLESS-ENTRY-KEY-REMOTE-FOB-/280836734548?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &fits=Year%3A2006|Make%3AAcura|Model%3ATSX&hash=it em41632c7e54&vxp=mtr
^^ is that any good? Also it shouldn’t be hard to cut and program for a locksmith right? I just don’t want to spend $60 on the key and have them mess it up.
Thanks in advance!

www.heeltoeauto.com, switchblade key. I have the Honda Accord combination key fob and my sister has the newer style TSX switchblade key you have linked to and they work perfectly. Both had them programmed and cut at the dealership for $60-$70 after buying the milled keys. I wouldn't mess with the cheap imitations you have linked us to because you can get a legit key from heeltoeauto.com that you don't have to worry about the key failing in 6 months.

thats not a bad price of 60$ comparing to eBay key.
is the quality of heeltoeauto key good?
so if you wouldn't mind explaining what is milled keys? is that precut or like un cut?
the ebay one is not an OEM switchblade... but if you like it, then go for it.
the dealer can cut and program for you but like they said it depends what kind of machine they have. i took mine to a local locksmith for cut/program. first time i took it there was 75. second time 50. dont know why the price difference. maybe it was because of bad timing LOL.
heres an OEM switchblade

Not really, when my local locksmith hooked up the oem key and the keys I got from ebay; its has the same transponder chip inside. He even said that the milled was excellent.
key already milled down to spec, all they have to do is cut it and program it. Make sure you have all your keys with you whenever they programming the new key; they're just gonna test making sure that all keys works.
okay found a locksmith that will cut and program the key for $35. last thing i want to ask is your guys opinion should i get heeltoe key 119$ or ebay about 60$. its a major price difference. your guys input will help greatly.
