I fully admit this compliant is based off what others here had said AND the fact the TSX doesn't seem to do all that well in the braking test I've seen in the mags (but I guess that could be partly the tires).

The 2003 RSX-S A-spec shaved about 20 feet off its braking distance from standard w/ better summer tires and higher friction pads (as per Car & Driver). The last test of the 2005 RSX-S w/ better tires showed about a 15 foot improvement, now with larger 17" A/S tires as OEM equipment (as per C&D). I think there's a pattern here and believe a change of tires and pads could net something similar to this for the TSX.

Will there be a more significant styling change on the 2007 or 2008 TSX? the changes on th 2006 are so minor. Thanks

Doubt it. Since the 2006 TSX represents the mid-cycle model, changes for the 2007/08 will likely be *less* significant than changes on the '06. i'm speculating that the most noticable change in 2007 could be an introduction of LED taillights to bring it up to speed w/ the LED-equipped 2006 Accords beneath it and the already LED-equipped TLs above it.

Ok, I may get the 2006, then sell/trade into the 2008 when it comes out if it is improved.

I wonder how much add'l weight the '06 gains by adding more cool stuff, stiffening, sound-deadening, whatever. (It just seems like, with each redesign, cars gain weight as they gain cool stuff.) Enough to offset the 5-10 hp gain? The stock '04 is about 16 lbs/hp, meaning if the '06 is 160 lbs heavier then the seat-of-the-pants will be about the same I think.

I plan on driving my 04 TSX until it won't go anymore -- I like the car that much. Each subsequent model will be cooler/faster/better, I suppose, but I like everything about my car (including the XM Roady 2 I bought for $50 and can also take on the boat or in the house, as opposed to the hard-wired version '05 forward) and will really like the $450/mo I won't have to spend in a couple years.

So I'm getting Hondata-fied, do the i/h/e, replace the Michelins, and love my TSX ten more years.

The point is, I don't think the wipers added any weight to offset the HP increase. Unlike a specially designed windshield, stiffening, and sound-deadening might.

I was mainly just wondering -- I don't know that the '06 is any heavier or, for that matter, any lighter than the '04/'05. I'll be interested to see the specs when they come out.

Is there any word on the 2006 TSX being posted on the Acura Web Site?
Is there any word as to when the car will be released to dealers in the USA?
Thank you.

I ordered my 06 TSX AT w/ NAVI last weekend. My dealer is not sure when all of the info will be released, but they think the official info will be released around end of November, and my car should arrive around December, possiblly but not likely, January.

Were there any Rim Options or Body Kit options? Thanks.

I don't think that the dealers know anything more about the 2006 than us and I think a lot know less. Acura has not released a lot of information to them yet.

For my purchase of the 06 TSX we based the price on the existing TSX added normal 05 options and came to a price. They didn't know any details.

Excited

My dealer says the '06 I ordered a month ago will be in his first shipment, and he expects it in mid-November. He can't tell me a thing about when MSRPs and the accessory list will be out (he tells me he won't have the '06 accessories themselves in stock until a month after the cars start arriving!), but this convinces me it will be at about the same time, so I expect the web site update won't happen for a month.

He also confirmed that the MSRP increase will be no more than $200, but he said the delivery charge is going up by $110, for obvious reasons.

November 9th seems to be the official release date for the 06 TSX, pricing wise, and when the model will show up on the Acura website. The car should be out for sale around that date...

The delivery charges already went up by $100+ about two months ago -- so are you saying they're raising it again?

no it wont.

the 08 models will be like the current one and probably come out in the fall of 2007, the '09 models which would come out in spring 2008 would be the new ones.

i also went to my acura dealer to get something serviced today. they are still taking delivery of 2005 model cars into november.

in fact they had a brand new white one there today (which they didnt have last week when i bought my car)

Hmmm.... well, that post was from Sept. 29, after a recent call to the dealer-man, and as of early August when they wouldn't come down enough to make an '05 worth it to me, the destination charge in NH was USD $570, so I interpreted it to mean an increase to $680.

Butthinking about it, it's entirely possible that two increases are occurring and I only know of one, so that's about all I can tell you. Maybe I'll hear a new number when I call the dealer-man on the morning of the 9th and make him my offer.

The dest charge for 2005 RL is 570 and 2006 RL is 615 from acura.com website. It increased 45 dollars. Where do you get the 680 from?

It's the $110 destination charge increase my New Hampshire dealer quoted me (see here) added to the $570 I last knew the NH destination charge to be.

Destination charges don't vary by state as far as I know. They average it out so everyone pays the same. Sounds like someone's dealer is ripping them off!!

Or maybe it's set to increase another $65.
