'07 vs '08 model
Not sure if this has been beaten to death, but I wanted to know everyone's opinion. The '07 model will be the last present bodystyle with minimal-no change. Hopefully, they'll tweak it here or there to get rid of minor annoyances.
The '08 model is the complete makeover. Although nobody knows for sure what it'll look like, what would you do? Go with an '07 model that has fully matured and gotten rid of the problems throughout the years? Or wait for the '08 bodystyle?
Only reason i ask is because I wouldn't want to deal with the annoyances with the new generation of TSX's, but I also wouldn't want to miss out on a potentially better model.

Obviously '08 will be better...... its a new bodystyle, new technology, new everything. I think buying a car is like buying a computer except computer depicts the timeline much faster. You buy the best, fastest, most beautiful computer and *bam* 6 months later, its completely obsolete. Same with cars...... the new version is always going to come out, so if you keep waiting for it, your never going to buy your car. '07 will be better than '06, '08 will be better than '07, '09 will be better than '08. I'd really say ideally wait for the '08, but practically speaking, why not '07? The only thing that can be a deciding factor is the look because our current TSXs'll be last gen tech as soon as '08's come out. Sometimes, I wish I hadn't done so much research before buying the '06 TSX because, theres too much to compare to =/ Somethings always bound to be better
'07 vs '08 is up to you, if you think bodystyle looks good/whatnot. Just dont keep waiting for it because I don't think it'll be practical since tech always advances haha. Thats how acura makes their money anyhow

You could wait for the second year of the change if you're worried about it, but I have an '04 and don't have any problems so far, and it seems to me that most of the rattles, etc. in the '04 are also in the '05 and probably the '06 too. Studies show that most first year models have more problems than later ones, so wait for the 2nd year if you're truly concerned.
Seriously, you're overthinking the issue. A car purchasing decision is a here-and-now thing, largely even as here-and-now as what's in the dealer stock when you're ready to buy. I waited until about a month from when I knew I was going to purchase my next car to do the research, and even then this last month has felt like an eternity. Now that my new TSX(06 GB/Qz) is almost here I'm salivating. I would never wait so long for a car or hedge my bets on a future model when nothing is known for certain.

I researched this car for 8 months along with the other 18 cars I looked at. I have this wierd desire to thoroughly understand each automobile and it's pros and cons before I sink ~28K of my money into it. I don't need to know I'm getting the newest thing I can, but I do need to feel I'm getting the best value out of the money I'm looking to spend. Unless you have money to burn there can be nothing more potentially horrible than impulse buying a car.
By that time, I think the E90 M3 will be available by then. I'm even hearing rumors of a sedan version.
If I'm willing to hold out and wait for a car over 2 years, might as well hold out for that beast.
Otherwise, that's too distant in the future. Even with my TSX purchase, I had no idea I was going to buy one until 2 weeks prior.

The first line of a new generation usually has the most bugs. My main issue isn't the fact that I may miss out on the new gadgets and features, but whether I would go with the virtually bug free '07 model or the bugs of the '08 model. I may be looking into this a bit much, but if im spending 30k, I will be getting my moneys worth.

and for those who made "Dur, why dont you wait until the 2075 model" comments, then you didn't fully understand my issue.

I have the same dilemma and it was because of this issue, I did not buy an '06 TL because the MC model is coming out in '07. I think it's best to buy an '06 now (I just did) because it's the MC model and most first year bugs have been worked out. Then you wait 5 more years for the next gen MC model and if you like it better, trade in your '06 for it. I plan to always buy MC model year cars.
1st year - won't buy because it has the most bugs
2nd year - won't buy because MMC is coming up next
MC year - buy buy buy
4th year - maybe...depends if the next gen model is coming out the next year or next next year....
5th year - won't buy because next gen model is coming up
This assumes a 5 year life cycle with the MC in the middle. MC = Mid-Cycle?

a car is an investment that you don't want to mess up on, but you'll just know if the 07 or 08 is for you. if you buy an 07 and then decide that you'd rather have the 08 when it comes out, i don't think that you'll be taking a huge loss because reselling the car for a good price shouldn't be a problem.

I was in the same boat - I ended up buying the '06 and here is why:
'06 is a great value for the money
One of the 10 Best - 3 years running
Excellent performance & Fuel economy
'06 just had the mid MC
No 1st or 2nd year bugs
Will probably buy a 2010 if I like the next generation
I really like the current package
'08 is surely going to be more expensive
I may not like the '08
It may be RDX'd for its 1st year introduction - No memory seat function or power passenger seat
It may (probably have a turbo) - I DON'T want a turbo
It may have a V6 (doubtful) - I DON'T want a V6
Good Luck & Happy Shopping!!

omg just get the damn car whenever you can, i bought the 06, i never thought of should i wait for 07 or 08 when i got it, there's always better things out there if you keep waiting you will get nothing. i mean we are talking about at least 2 years (assuming you are buying now), if it was 2 - 3 months of wait then that's a different story
