04/05 TSX Safety Recall (headlight assembly)
I just got a call from my Acura Dealer here in Columbus Ohio (Lindsay Acura) he said that there is a recall in regards to a safety issue with the headlight assembly on 2004 and 2005 TSX's. I told him that I already had mine in a few years ago to fix an issue with water getting in, but apparently I still need to bring mine in so they can check it. My appointment is tomorrow and I will report back when it is completed. He said it will take about 45 min.
Since April 2003 when I bought this car this makes the 6th time I have had to bring the car in to fix issues.

Thanks for the heads up. Someone else brought this up in a recent thread as well. I wonder when the letters will go out or if it will show up on ownerlink sometime soon. I'd like to get this done when I go in for my 40k service in about 2500 miles.

I got wind of this today from a coworker. I called up Ed Napleton Acura where I got mine from, and the service guy said that some clips need to be replaced. Apparently the hood rubs the headlight housing the wrong way and wears the top part of the headlight housing down, making in susceptible to condensation and the like. I told him that there is a bit of film on the interior of the headlight already and he said they may opt to replace the housing for me. Since he said that I am going to push the issue when I make my appointment.
Also I was told that there is another TSB that is out for my car (mine being an 05) that has to do with the fuel pump relay by the firewall. So that needs to be swapped out. I guess there have been reports of cars stalling or not being able to be started due to this.
So that means I will be pimping some spongy handling loaner for a day or two. Oh well, so is life.

Unfortunately for me (and others) Acura is almost 4 years too late. (Although they fixed it for free under warranty.) I had this happen back in 2003...

In about 10 minutes I am leaving to take the car to my dealer for them to check it.

I just got back from my Acura dealer. They said mine was ok (probably because they had already fixed the issue on my car a few years ago).
