Interior fan not working.

97 3.2 TL interior fan not working it used to work when I went around a corner or a random door shut but now nothing. Hard of course to drive in winter and heavy rain. I need to get this fixed with out big bucks if possible. Thanks

Thanks

How about checking the fuse? When most people have fan issues, it turns out to be the fuse. On my Jeep, though, the harness melted twice and the blower itself melted once. No idea why, either.

~Cheers~

Blower may require AC charge removal, evaporator and dash removal to replace. It does on the 2.5TL. Download the online manual and check for the 3.2TL.

When blower is intermittent and then finally quits, the brushes have worn (intermittent) and finally tumbled (never works) in their guide sleeve. New blower is fix, but check the fuse since job will be a challenge.

Cost at a shop is probably $500-$1000. I would want an experienced shop to do this. Evaporator box should be cleaned when this job is done to remove inevitable debris/dirt.

good luck

Thanks for the info. I have checked all fuses and they are all good, next step is to find some one trustworthy enough to deal with my whip to fix it. (With out leaving an arm or a leg with them.) I have taken the whole dash apart before but with some help but I am not sure this is a job I can handle. Thanks again.

I checked my copy of the download manual, and it's same procedure for 2.5TL and 3.2TL. Evaporator followed by blower module. You don't have to remove the dash panel itself, but lower dash panel, glovebox, and knee bolster. If you can download the manual, you'll have all the details you need. If you can't download, I can email the key parts. PM your email address.

good luck

I just had mine changed at a local shop did it for 1000 taxes in (Bensons in Cornwall ontario).
Acura dealer wanted 1800.
It is a really big job, not one you want to do in the backyard.
