93 vigor rpm's going crazy
93 vigor rpm's going crazy
hey guys, for my 5spd swap i am fixing the vigor for a friend. the rpm's shoot all over the place, this would be the AICV correct? thanks in advance for your help
Most likely the relay. Check the fuses, take the bulbs out to see if they are still good and if not then it is the relay.
whats the relay called.. im going to the yard tomorrow to get some misc parts i need. BTW both cars are being dropped off on sunday and should be complete by next wednesday.
The relay is called a relay. When I went to go get one for my fog lights they knew exactly what I was looking for and they told me just to go find it myself. I told them that I couldn't find it, pocketed it for nothing, and went home.
RPM fluctuations can be due to bad ignition parts; spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, ignitor. Missing can cause rpm fluctuations. Any drivability issues woudl suggest ignition parts are suspect.
RPM fluctutation could be due to failing RPM gauge in the instrument panel. This seems more likely as you describe. Look for used part at car-part.com near your zip or mail order.
I'm not aware of any relay that would affect the RPM indication.
good luck
