I have no idea what is going on...

I have a weird burning smell coming into my cabin after I drive the car for more than 20 minutes. I started experiencing this on Thursday and I have no idea what it is. I checked all the fluid levels and they are fine. So I have no idea what it may be.

Also my idle is really low. It is at about 400 RPMs. When I stop it goes just above the level of stall. It hasn't stalled on me yet. Any ideas what could fix this? I tried seafoaming it to see if that would help but it didn't.

Also it is time to have my water pump and timing belt replaced. I was wondering if anyone has the part numbers for what I am going to need for the installation. I have a 2.5 if that makes a difference with what I need.

Another thing. Does anyone know the parts numbers for the valves?

Did you try to disconnect the battery to reset the computer? As for the parts number I have these:

19200-P1R-003 WATER PUMP
19222-PV0-300 WATER PUMP GASKET
14400-PV0-004 TIMING BELT

I'm not sure what valves you are referring to.

I disconnected my battery after I seafoamed. What would disconnecting the battery do since it just resets the computer?

Thanks for the parts numbers! Do you also have the part numbers for the other belts as well?

Aren't there valves that cause the car to make a noise? When they go bad don't they make smoke come out of the exhaust?

Sometimes when I reset my computer, my car will idle very low and attempts to stall. It then "relearns" the condition such as driving habits, environment, etc and adjusts itself. At least thats what I was told. Well not sure if these are what you are looking for, but found this in my parts list:

14711-PV1-000 INTERIOR VALVE
14721-PV1-000 EXTERIOR VALVE OR 14721-PV4-000
14621-PV0-000 ROCKER ARM A, INTERIOR
14622-PV0-000 ROCKER ARM B, INTERIOR
14623-PV0-000 ROCKER ARM, EXTERIOR

How long should I leave my battery disconnected? What do you guys think are some reasons as to why the idle is low? My last tune up was about 2 years ago if that changes anything.

Here are some more issues:

I was on my way home today from seeing my parents. They are about 20 minutes from where I live. The car drove fine there. Then on the way back it began to rain and I turned the windshield wipers on. I noticed that the windshield wipers were going slower than normal. Then as I got off at my exit I noticed that my battery light was on. So I pull in my driveway shut the car off and turn it back on. now when I turned it on the battery light was on and so is the ABS. Now at this point I am like seriously FML.

So I pop the hood and look and what do I see a belt is barely moving. I believe that is it the alternator belt because that is the one that is closed to the engine. Do you guys think that is it the alternator? Would the alternator or the belt trigger the lights to come on like that?

To reset the ECU, disconnect your battery for about 20 seconds. I usually leave it disconnected for a minute or so. The burning smell that you encountered could possibly be your alternator belt since you said that it was barely moving. The belt is probably slipping causing alternator not charging/providing the correct voltage which can cause many other symptoms that you have described. I've just took my belts off to replace my compressor pulley a couple of days ago and still remember the order of the belts. Yes the belt all the way towards the back if you stand in front of the car is the alternator belt. The middle is the A/C compressor, and outer is the P/S pump belt. If the alternator belt is barely moving with the engine running, that would be your problem. Replace the belt if it is damage and see if all your problems have gone away. If belt is still good, which it probably not, adjust it tighter. Yes alternator belt slipping could cause the battery light to come on.

So do you think that my alternator could of gone bad as well? I am ordering the belts hopefully tomorrow.

So let me see if I have the belts/parts that I should/need to replace:
Timing Belt 14400-PV0-004
Alternator Belt
A/C compressor Belt
P/S Pump Belt
Water Pump 19200-P1R-003
Water Pump Gasket 19222-PV0-300

Should I replace my compressor as well since it isn’t allowing the belt to be pulled. What you mean by compressor pulley is the round piece that is closest to the ground when you look in the engine correct that has the belt wrapped around it.

I read somewhere on this forum that alternators in these cars are very reliable and are good up to 200,000 miles. Here is the list of parts again:

Timing Belt 14400-PV0-004
Alternator Belt 31110-P1R-004
A/C Belt 31110-PH2-J04 OR 38920-P1R-004
P/S Belt 56992-P1R-004
Water Pump 19200-P1R-003
Water Pump Gasket 19222-PV0-300

I would get the 3 accessory belts (a/c, p/s, alternator) from your local autopart store to save some money since they are usually of good quality. That's where I get them and never had problems. Timing belt, water pump, gaskets should be genuine parts with the part numbers listed above.

What is wrong with your compressor? Is it working, blowing cold air, making noise? The compressor pulley I was talking about is on the compressor itself. It's what the belt rides on compressor, usually refer to as the clutch set.

Before all this started happening it was wobbling and making noise.

Let me get this correct, the compressor was wobbling and making noise? What kind of noise? Are you sure its coming from the compressor or the idler?

So I decided to take everything about in my driveway and I have the belts and radiator out now. I ordered the alternator belt because Autozone did not have it but they had the other 2. I am going to take the pulley out tomorrow and hopefully I can get everything done by the end of the week.

Had this mechanic I know come by the house today and he told me that I need three imonic(sp?) stabilizers aka the wheels that hold the 3 belts that are in the middle of the engine.

I misinterpreted what he said. It is an imonic(sp?) balancer.

Harmonic balancer or crankshaft pulley. Search it up and you will get some results.

the harmonic balancer is basically the crank pulley.

Yes it is the harmonic balancer. He had just woken up and had a hangover so he was slurring his words. hahaha

Has anyone ever replaced this piece? If so do I only need 14 or do I need something else too?

I got everything out except the crankshaft pulley and my mechanic said that since I have the parts everything is labor so I'm just going to bring it to him. He was suppose to do a few things for me today but since I can't get the car to him I am going to wait until I get my parts that I ordered literally 5 minutes and then bring everything to him.

UPDATE!

Here is what has happened:
Crankshaft pulley: Ordered
Alternator belt: Ordered
P/S Belt: Have
A/C Belt: Have
Water Pump: Ordered
Timing Belt: Ordered
Exhaust clamp: Fixed
Tranny drain & fill and screen replacement: Getting done tomorrow.

Can I do the tranny work even though the car isn't running?

I am deciding to do as much as I can before I have to bring it to my mechanic because that will save me as much money as I can.

Decided not to do the screen tomorrow and I'm just going to wait until the pulley gets installed. I am going to try tomorrow to see if I can get it out after reading a few threads on here. So I am and hopefully I can get it out and save myself some money!

I got my pulley out. Tomorrow I am going to see how far I can get with the water pump and timing belt.

To anyone that has removed it
Is it hard? It is right behind the plastic piece in the engine?

Update!

The car is back on the road. I ended up not doing the water pump and timing belt yet. I'm going to wait a little for that. I ended up removing and installing the crankshaft pulley in my driveway. It took the parts over a week to arrive but it was well worth it because the is running some what normal again. The only thing that I cannot figure out is why it is idling so low. I tried idling it up but it wouldn't stay at 500 RPMs.

Do you think that it has something to do with the throttle? I read in a thread (https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...light=low+idle) about cleaning the throttle plates and bore. I am looking to do this to see if this will solve my problem, but where exactly are they located in the engine bay.

Is your CEL on? When my CEL was on, I brought it to the dealer to get the EGR valve replaced under warranty and they cleaned my throttle body too.

Well here is an old post with pictures that might be helpful to you if you decide to do it: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...throttle+plate
