Tweeters by the cabin light
Does anyone know how to pop off the little thing surrounding the cabin light so I can change the 2 tweeters on my 2.5TL? I just need to know if it's a major pain in the ass or if it's an easy thing to do. Or where I can find a diagram. Any help is highly appreciated.
I have heard that just bout everyone that bought after market speakers pulled their tweets out after they mounted them in facotory spot and either door or top of dash mounted due to the aftermarkets being too damn loud even with the treble turned all way down.
I've read that the impedence is different for the 2 tweeters and 2 mids, thus making it a lot louder than it should be. Not sure how to get around this as I'm not an audio expert.
Any ideas? I have those 4 speakers disconnected until a proper solution is found, if ever.

Pretty cool huh?The tweeters are the 2 on the dash that reflect against the glass.

I wouldn't hook up the center tweeters, they are set up as a center channel and unless you really know what you're doing with regards to sound quality, levels, etc. you could end up with these being way louder than they should be and affecting sound quality in a negative way. More isn't always better, especially when it comes to speakers in a car. There CAN be too much of a good thing.
But in any case if you want to and you like the weay it sounds, then hey fire it up! just remember that you'll now be hearing the same left channel from the tweeter on your dash on your left side and that other one on your right above your head, so stereo separation will not be too good!! (Unless you set it up properly as a center channel, which the factory system does with the aid of a DSP.)

OK then, fair enough. If that's all you're doing I don't think it's even worth it to change those ones dude. Change the dash ones for sure, but those ones are just center channel, and don't get too much power as it is. I would just say it is not worth the $$$$, but if you've got some tweets that will fit lying around, then by all means chuck them in.
