Tranny Cooler?

I'm towing a ford escort from Chicago to San Diego with my '96 3.2. Do I need a tranny cooler, or will I be alright without one? I don't want to do any damage to the tranny.

do you have another car??? i could not put myself up to towing another car that far with my TL... and have you looked into options of just shipping the car???

but to answer your question, it def doesn't hurt to have the tranny cooler, but i am sure it is already tied into the radiator cooling system...

My company is paying for my move...they will pay for the car dolly, but not to ship the car. It's stupid. I'm gonna go look at the car...on a parts sheet, it shows pipes to/from an atf cooler.

if your company is paying you to move but not covering that expense... just shell out the money to ship the car then tax deduct it at the end of the year... will you have other items in your car when you move too???

I have the option to drive the uhaul truck (26' pulling trailer w/ '08 Civic on trailer) and then drive the TL and the escort. I have myself, my wife, my sister, and parents all helping me move, so we have five drivers. We were just trying to condense the caravan...but I decided to just go ahead and drive both cars and the truck. The company covers all gas so it makes no sense to ruin my car.

If the U-haul has enough beef you could possibly tow both cars with it.
depending on what state you are in and the total vehicle length you can have two trailers on one vehicle.
I probably would not want to do it long distance but i have moved two boat trailers in one truck.

Uhaul won't allow that anyway
