I'm interested in getting my 2.5 tinted, since it didnt come with a stock tint. I have no idea what a good price is and was just wondering what range of prices I should look for. BTW want all but windshield done. Also, do I need to get the felt on the window thing in my door replaced, or will it scratch the tint?

 

You will spend an easy $200 or more for the whole car. I'd get 15-20% tint all the way around. About replacing the felt, I didn't do that.

 

Does the tint get scratched tho, cuz thats wut im worried about. 200+ doesnt sound that bad, i just gotta find the right place. i got a quote when i got the car from some shop around town for 255 for the back 3 windows. it seemed kinda expensive. 200-300 is definitely doable for the whole car.

 

I guess it varies in different parts of the country. I had all 4 windows and the rear done in one piece for under $150 with Diamond Tint Film 20% with it's nationwide full warranty that even covers the window being broken and scratches.

 

Yeah I paid $50 for both my cars, but that's because I knew a guy who owned a shop.

 

Around my area, I got my tints for $120. I got everywhere tinted besides windshield. The tints were 35%, so not too bad!

 

I got my tints for $175. The tints were 20% all around using the lexus type tints. Life time warranty too.

You should be able to get a pretty close price based on a phone call I would think, I did.

 

What I always do is call and the a quote then go down there and see what they say. If its more when you go down there say you just called the other day. Then they gotta do it for that price.

It depends on where you live. Here in South Florida, it's 20% on the front windows.

If you go below that here and get pulled over, you will receive a ticket and summons to go before the judge and prove that you removed the illegal tints.

 

that's not an answer to the question since you "know" a guy. thus, he cant base his decision on your price quote. hell, i got my car re-tinted for free b/c i friends with the owner of a tint shop.

 

How did the shops deal with the top part of our rear window with the painted shade?

I've seen a lot of TL's where the tint just comes up to meet this spot. Did anyone tint the whole back window?

In cali your not suppose to tint the front windows AT ALL. I did them anyways haha....got one fixing ticket already but my homeboy knew a cop that signed it off for me.
praxiis-yea the guy asked me if i wanted to tint that shaded part too...i did because i think it would've look weird with that untinted area.

 

Yeah i'm from cali and ive got one ticket for my tints which is 5% all the way around. But ive had them for a year. And i knew a cop so i got them sighned off. For the most part the cops in my town dont care. However i have got 2 tickets for my L.E.D. chasis light kit. I just took them off they werent worth having to keep going to court.
