Starting problem...the car is dead.

Having hard time starting my car, not sure what is the problem is but really don't think is the starter seen the car would start and on for about 1-2 second and than go off. I'm about to have the car tow to a local repair shop. Any of you know or think what the problem is?

Thanks in advance for your input!

Same thing happened to me the other day, but it was just too cold. Started it again, and all was fine (sorry - I know this doesn't help much)

I don't think it got to do with the weather, especially it kinda warm out here in California today. Will keep you guy posted on this one when I find out from the repair shop.

Thanks

My car had starting problems too. It would start most of the time and the be dead other times. I would have to keep trying to turn over the engine until it started.. I would turn the ignigtion on and hear a click and repeat until it started.. it sucked!! I changed the battery first.. and nothing.. so I finally had to shell out 600 buck to replace the starter!! ouch!

check how much the starting crank your battery puts out.battery drains when its too cold, same thing happend to me and it was the battery,so i got ac del 1000 ..... it could be your starter too/ i had mine changed last year due to my alarm starter it kills the starter if you do it too much..... good luck...

Mechanic called and it's gonna cost $350 to fix both starter and ignition switch. I'll let you guys know how it's gonna turn out when I pick up my car Thursday.

Mine was done at 42, 000 and I have a 97 3.2. I took it to the dealer and they wanted like 900 to do it and I was trying to find someone to do it cheaper and then they called back and said they would do it for free because my miles were so low. Sweet huh?
