Unhappy Battery voltage lowering - with no parasitic draw when parked.

I will go from 12.8 to 12.4 in 8 hours or so. Add that up for a couple of days, and my battery will go dead.

I ran the amperage from my DMM on the 10 ADC setting. I will get about 0.03-0.02 (I believe that is normal).

I went out of the country for a week, and my battery was DEAD @ 6V. I had to buy a new one. This is doing it again with a brand new battery.

Thoughts and suggestions.

Check the spot above your rear view mirror for heat. It could be a malfunctioning HFL.

Swap the setting on the DMM to milliamps. DO NOT TURN ON THE CAR WITH IT HOOKED UP. Make sure the meter is in SERIES and not in PARALLEL with the battery.

It should be around 20 milliamps with the car off after 10 minutes of locking the car.

Pull the fuses one by one until you can get it to drop! Also are you locking the car? Do you have an Ipod adapter installed?

That did the trick. I removed the fuse under the hood and it still did it, so I thought it wasn't the HFL. Completely disconnected the HFL, and the heat stopped as well as the drain. Thanks for the insight.
