New Owner/Member 97' TL3.2 Inroduction
New owner of a well cared for 97' TL3.2, recently discovered owner is a forum member as well. Great to know and verify the history of the vehicle. Bought at fair market price with high mileage but documented history of service, maintenance, parts and labor. Other than the typical D4 light issue, clear coat failure, faulty pass. mirror, bad cd lens and a few dings- good to go! Have my eyes on a set of Type S wheels and new tires. Getting ready to tint and alarm. Have performed all required maintenance and services for mileage, almost 172k now. Polished the clear lens, new high end air filter, looking at cold air, Injen or something, converting rotors to drilled/slotted and going with EBC pads. The beginning of a new project...I'll post pics when I've earned the privilege, looking forward to some good insight and hopefully offering sound advice. Driving for the next year before I give to my daughter to work out any bugs.

So you bought the car and later found out that the previous owner was a member of this forum?
You can use photobucket to upload your pictures and paste the image code here. Welcome!

Sorry for the confusion, but yes. I bought the car based on the initial inspection, drive and documented records. Beforehand, I've been reviewing various threads here to become more familiar with the car, known issues and etc. which was very helpful. In doing so, I came across the seller as a member of the forum for several years. I read his posts and threads and confirmed what I had in writing, the history and etc. adding to the validity and comfort of buying. I feel assured I got a great car and don't regret the price and know have a better idea in general of what I got myself into being that it is a 15 year old car. I look forward to the new experience. I've grown up around muscle cars, imports and racing but never owned an Acura. I wanted a car with proven reliability, reasonable performance, known longevity and something that would be practical, safe and good for my daughter. I've had it about 2-3 months now and may even consider keeping it myself. Nothing like not having a car payment!

I also meant to add, I did have the Carfax report, verified maintenance and services with known dealers as reported and having an above average mechanical know-how felt the works reported had been done, identified what's needed and am confident I can perform most of it. My last few projects we an older Expedition and before that a Jeep Cherokee. Prior had a Jetta, Accord, 260z, GTO and on... I'm also into bikes, had a Truimph, GSXR, CBR and now with a back injury dual sport and quads for recreation. Unfortunately, had to sell my boat and jet ski-Grrrr. All of which had various mods, all sold for more than I had into them and the upgrades made them much better. All looked good as new when completed and that's my plan with this if all goes well!

Looks really clean and shiny! I'm on my phone so I couldn't fix your pics for you, but go to the photo and copy/paste the link starting with "IMG" and the picture should show directly on the post instead of links.

Thank you for the advice, appreciate the heads up! I wasn't sure how to... the pics are prior to my owning but most accurately reflect it's current condition. Those that don't are the of the rear drivers side clear coat failure and rear bumper scratches and clear coat issues.

If you don't mind me asking, I'd like to know which member previously owned your car? Is it the reflection or does it look like your bumper signal lights are on in the last picture?

It's not Heather Mist, it's Granite Silver Pearl. Having had both, it's WAY better than Heather Mist, IMO.
~Cheers~

As mentioned, if you click the links in the thread rather than pics- you can scroll left or right on top in the entire album which has multiple other pics. It is the platinum silver with light beige leather interior, the owner took meticulous care of it all around which I plan to do as well.
