2003 Acura TL3.2 Type S

I know Im new to the forum but I would like your opinion on a 2003 Acura TL3.2 Type S with 128K on it for $7,999. I know these cars have issues with the tranny but anything else that I should ask the dealership about? Think its a deal or not? Just tell me anything you think I should know. Thanx in advance

Whats the kbb on it? 8 grand seems a little low to me for an 03 but I could be wrong. Ask about the rotors are cars have shitty rotors.

Thats really low $ for a dealer, and they usually dont handle cars with high miles-
so ask whats up- the full carfax report-
call Acura with the VIN and ask if covered on extended trans warranty
or other issues with this car
was it a lemon buyback
was it from a customer at dealer-traded at that dealer or auction bought car
Any maitenance history
It may need the 105k milkes service $1000 and brakes all around
well many of us upgrade because the factory pads and rotors suck- add 500-1000$
Will they include any warranty with it

Acura- 1-800-382-2238 x5 6a-5p pacific time

and the transmission is $4000 if it goes !!!
add all these numbers together for real cost of car

CALL Acura Care first at the 800 number- do it now and with any Acura you are looking at
and save hours of hassle

With 128,000 miles it won't have extended warranty coverage. There's always a chance for an out-of-warranty goodwill repair but you can't count on that.

man, that's a lot of miles. i'd say save your bucks and go with a lower milage car. I bought my 03 TL about six months ago with 46k miles.

I was thinking more along the lines of- maybe it had the trans replaced under the extended warranty-
so chance of new one being in there!!- calling Acura will tell all- they have the warranty records at their computer

I see. That's an excellent suggestion.

Ok thanx for all the replies. I'm just in the beginning stages of this car. I will call Acura tomorrow morning and ask them about the warranties and such. I NEVER buy a car without a full carfax report and vehicle history. If anyone wants to take a look at the listing for it, you can look on autotrader.com. I don't know about hyperlinking other websites in this forum so I'll just play it safe and not do it. Again, Thanx for your help guys

If the tranny was replaced after 05, and all maintence was done, then go for it. If it's been neglected then leave it alone. Mileage is not a problem for Honda/Acura. It all depends on how the car was maintained. Go for a thorough test drive, and also be sure to drive one with lower miles and compare. Don't rush into it.

Remember that carfax only knows what its told
Its possible to avoid reports of accidents to it by simply not going thru
insurance claim. Pay cash and no report
It does show services at the dealer and history of title
1 owner cars driven on long trips are often the best buys
Just look at our Moderator fsttyms1 over 250k miles on the car
and going strong. He replaced the perfectly good engine at 200k miles to drop in a 6sp !

Forgot the main thing to do-
take it to a private shop/mechanic and have it put on the life and inspected.
Thats how you check damage, leaks, brakes etc
