Help, emission check engine light is on again
Help, emission check engine light is on again
My 09 RDX is keep having this problem (emission check engine light on).
I think there were more than 10 times this year.
We bought our car back to the dealership and replaced many things like oxygen sensor, Torque converter, ECU etc etc....
And the problem still can not be fixed. My dealership also opened a file with Acura Tech Line to report the problem. And still they can not fix it....
ECU was replaced this Tuesday and the emission check light is on again this Thursday.
Any advise what I should do next?

Simple thing, but do you make sure you twist the gas cap at least 3 times when filling your tank? If you don't twist it enough, the CEL will come on.
If this is not the problem, have they replaced the actual sensor for the CEL?
Do you know what codes they are pulling when the CEL is on?

Yes, gas cap is not the issue. We know that from day 1 when we bought the car, we make sure we hear 3 clicked sound.
As told by the deal, we have different code every time. One code is for the oxygen sensor P1039? Something like that.

Well, P1039 is not an Acura code, it's a Ford specific trouble code.
But anyway, next time have the dealer tell you what the code is and what they plan to do about it.
Better yet, before you go to the dealer get the code read for free at Autozone. They can read all generic trouble codes with definitions and should be able to give you the Acura code (with no definition) as well. Check this link to define an Acura code: Acura Trouble Codes
Post the code and we will try to advise before you go in.
It's a bit perplexing to consider that the O2 sensor, torque converter and ECU might have all failed on a new car within one year. Have they considered that something might be causing false codes? A weak or intermittant power supply often causes all kinds of false codes in electrically sensitive modern cars.
