Dang it! My wife broke the right side. Geez these are expensive for what they are!

Acura Part # 84436-S1C-E00

$16.86 plus $9 S/H = $25 ish (Everyone wants $9 bucks shipping for this tiny part!)

Part #9 in this image. It is used for a nylon line to attach to the deck lid to move up and down with the lift gate.

grrr...the passenger side one on mine came unscrewed from the back..the driver side seems like it could be tighter too.. i need to get the one back in there. Or is that how any of yours were "broken" too?

Any one have DIY pics?

Mine sheared off right at the point the screw from the backside stops. So when the plastic broke I see the tip of the screw poking through.

The passenger side clip came apart today. Thanks to this thread, it saved me from spending $25-$30 on a new part. I thought the black plastic clip was broken and it was just the backside screw just worked itself out and was inside the plastic panel once I popped it off. Screwed everything back together and added some Gorilla tape on the backside on top of the screw under the panel (hoping that will keep it from working out in another 8 yrs).

Ours snapped during the first year, I just clued it back using super glue, it's been holding well after eight years. Thought it's too much effort to open up everything for a small pin like that.

Mine's also broke off years ago. I was able to use a round head metal screw as a replacement part. The screw went in just enough to be secure and the screw head was the perfect size for the nylon thread tab. Since the tab covers the screw head, you wouldn't notice it was not the original part.

One of mine fell off. Do I need to remove the entire panel to get to the back to replace the screw?
