Near the end of a 30 minute drive home early today in my 2008 Tech, I lost my Navi map image to a screen with the message "DVD Reading Disc Error, Please Consult Your Dealer." It stayed on as I drove and pushed buttons but got no response.
However, after I parked and turned the car on again, everything worked fine. Everything was again OK on two other short trips later today.
Not sure what to make of this: Is it the beginning of the end of the unit (and I know it's an expensive repair or replacement) or did something temporarily glitch? Anyone else with a similar experience?
Have your dealership look 👀 at it, my unit took a shit 💩 and I got lucky. I paid to have it rebuilt and they were able to fix it. If not after spending $700 to fix it I would have to spend $3,600 on a new unit...

Thanks for the reply and info. Luckily the error message has not come back and Navi and controls are all working fine. Fingers crossed that it will stay that way!
