I just purchased a used 2002 TL Type S, the DVD disc that came with the car is a burned versio of 2.04. I asked the dealer about it (not an Acura dealer) and they said that most of the discs are stolen at auction and that this is better than having me pay for a new disc. I am having problems however with the disc, I get an error that says disc is not formatted contact the dealer. I tried taking the disc out and putting it back in right away but that doesn't seem to work. However if I take the disc out bring it inside and let it warm up (live in OH) then bring it back out to the car it seems to work just fine. Is the navi system know to be touchy in the cold? I want to update to 2.2 and have ordered the disc but who knows when I will actually get the thing! Does anyone have an idea of what is wrong? Is it just the copy of the disc I have or maybe a problem with the player itself? Also does the change from 2.04 to 2.2 add a lot of roads?

that can happen with a burned version...it has happened to me once also, its not your player. You will have alot more information on the 2.20 version vs. your current one. I have the 2.11c (last version before the 2.20) and the 2.20 has like 4 million more points of interest and who knows how many more updated roads.

 

I got the same message "disc not formatted” when I first inserted the new 2.20, however after a second our two it started to load up and I haven’t had any problems since.
