Secondary Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit
I just had the oygen sensor replaced on my 1997 Acura CL 2.2 because it got a CEL code of 65 which which told me it was "
Secondary Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit". After i did the check engine light still came back on for the same issue. I even disconnected the battery for a few minutes to clear the CEL but cam back on. Anyone can assit me on this, PLEASE!!! HELP!

proable cause-open or short in secondary o2 heater circuit
i don't want to type the whole flow chart on how to diagnose the o2 sensor
go here (link deleted)
download the service manual for a 97 accord, look up under pgm-fi section (i think pg 11-71) and go through the whole procedure to diagnose your o2 short/open, you will need a voltmeter for this

Thanks Yurhomieblaze. It was replaced my a mechanic using a Denso brand rear oxygen sensor. Could using an non-Acura brand cause the problem. The mechanic stated that maybe it could be the catalytic converter or maybe some electrical. Please advise on this if any of this is true.

proably not the senosr unless its a gross mistake on the mechanics side but most likely electrical
i'd get the manual and a voltmeter and follow the step by step intstructions, it will determin what wires open/short
closer look at my service manual say it could also be the ecu but you have to go though the steps to see if its the sensor, the wires or ecu.

I'm not sure who Honda uses for the O2's, but I think its NGK or TEK. You might have to get one from the dealer or online to save some $$.
