Question Problems Removing the Airbox

I've installed a Short Ram yesterday on my 2.2CL. The under the hood part went great but I cant remove the stock airbox. The wrench that i have is too big to fit in between the plastic sheets with the necessary socket adaptor. Can I just leave the airbox in or is it really crucial that I take it out?

thanx in advance

Yah, its the one next to the wheel on the passenger side. I cudnt get mine out....My only concern is that it might not be good for the car....how would air get through it if nothing is connected to the box.

I left mine in for 3 years and it won't do anything. But I finally decided to take it out so if you take out the lowest clip under your wheel well then you can move the plastic rock guard enough to take out the last bolt. It took me like 5 minutes.

I had no trouble taking it out with a wobbly extension. I had to take it out for the CAI, but I wouldnt worry about it for a short ram.
