High Beam Bulb Out

Hey all,

New 2.2 CL owner here. I recently picked up a nice 5 speed with 180KM on the clock with a very mint body.

As I was doing some other bushing repairs, I wanted to replace the one high beam bulb that was out. (Passenger side)

So I unclipped, twisted and replaced but the filament is fine?? The new one won't work either.

It's JUST the high beam on the passenger side too. I checked all fuses etc.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks!

this is where the ohm meter will be your friend. start by checking the wiring harness to see if its getting power...then work your way back from there

test light will work also, if the light comes on its getting power. I always liked the test light better than the ohm meter because you can pick a place and stick it in the shielding on the wire anywhere and see if you have power at that certain place, if not go back further to locate where you do. I have found some broken wires quite a few times when restoring old muscle cars this way, especially on wires that have inline fuses

So I used the Ohm meter today and no luck on the plug itself, I went as far back as I could with the wire and there is no breaks in it at all.

Anyone have a wiring diagram or a link to one for the passenger headlight and where they go?

Thanks

you checked the fuses under the hood correct? that is where the headlight fuse is at and that would be my first guess as to whats wrong. If that fuse is good,I would check to see if you have power coming to the fuse box under the hood for that light. If so then I would check the wire going from the box to the headlight and maybe change it if necessary

So I feel stupid updating this, but I figure for anyone searching.

My DRL module wasn't working which causes the passenger highbeam not to work. I got my DRL working and it came back haha. Oh ya, I'm from Canada in case anyones wondering why I have DRL's haha.

Thank you though for the very quick replies.

didn't know you had DRL nor you were from Canada but thanks for updating. That way if anyone has a Canadian version or in Canada and has the same problem they will know what to look for and we will know what to suggest

That's what I was thinking.

I kept reading over the days and noticed the DRL's make stupid lights not work and just act weird. Now if I could only find a set of 3.0 heated sets I would be golden! haha
