^^false. you should be happy you have the cassette, its one of the rarest options on the CL.

i havent had a cassette player in years, so i hope this works
sometimes the tape player rejects the tape for some reason, and itll have the tape in the player, but not all the way in (as in its not set all the way down). try gently pushing it all the way in/pulling it out, then trying it again.

hope that helps

I could care less about a fancy rare option like a tape deck, i'd rip that shit out and put an aftermarket stereo in in a heartbeat for a wider variety of playable media types.

The more important question to ask is, why do you still use your factory stereo? Save up about $100 and get a nice cd player with aux in.

That's not what he was asking - he was asking for a solution for his existing setup. I'm sure the OP knows that he can buy another headunit.

Have you tried any other cassettes? Those cassette adapters are known to go bad occasionally.

Not one of you offered any help except southern jersey, if you guys don't have anything to contribute, stay the hell out, Nate and Shadow, come on you guys

Sounds like a problem with the tape player itself, the tape player hooks into your CD headunit. I would try to see if the tape is jammed. Otherwise sounds like tape deck is toast. I've seen them on ebay for very cheap if you can't figure it out, you can always replace it. You also could unhook your battery for 30 seconds or so to reset your stereo and see if that works. however DON'T do that unless you have your radio code to unlock your radio

sometimes i wish i had a tape player, so i could listen to my ipod without having an adapter use the outlet that the radar detector normally uses.

try using a regular cassette. if that works you probably need a new adapter. if the regular cassette doesnt work, you player may be fried, and a new one might be in order
