CD Player Error

Hello,
I have a problem with my CD Player. Every time I start the car, the CD player flashes Er-E1. If I push the CD button, it flashes the same error. Needless to say, the CD Player doesn't work.

Is it toast or is there a solution to this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Please specify the type of CD player... is it aftermarket, oem, what? If aftermarket, check the manual, there's usually a list of problem displays in it.

My aftermarket kenwood deck was just destroyed because I used an ebay car charger adaptor in my lighter. I'm so pissed, I just put my OEM cd player back in today.

He has an 2001 - it's in the post and in his sig. Holy crap read the posts.

OP - check with the 2nd gen guys, or in the owner's manual if you have one. It should tell you which each error means.

calm down douche, sorry I assumed he had a 1st gen because he impressively posted in the completely wrong section and south posted right below me so I thought he was talking to me for some reason.

as a general rule, whenever you get error codes from CD Players, they're on their last breath. Try resetting the clock/radio fuse maybe.

or better yet, start shopping for aftermarket...OEM decks suck.
