KBB says $2300 private party good condition, $2700 excellent condition. trade in will be less than that

Yeah, in the northwest cars book out higher though, and you can't buy a clean honda for kbb, you always have to pay more than the private party value, especially for one in primo condition like mine, I'm only the second owner. With my zip code in my accord actually books out on kbb private party at 2700 with the options, my car also comes with a set of brand new michelins on mint 02 accord rims for use in the summer along with the studded tires and stock rims, so that's worth a little. I looked around a bit on craigslist and I figure my car should be worth an easy 3k. People are askin that for 4th gen with even more miles than mine.

The market for that accord is so narrowed because it's so far from stock, plus the mileage on the body and engine both aren't listed. It also needs body work it says, and the engine vibrates more than it should because of the motor mounts. My car is really close to stock and mint condition, therefore appealing to a much broader market of buyers.

Wow! I never really realized how much 5th gen accords look like our cars till I was helping my friend out with an intake I got him on his '97 Accord coupe. I preach the ways of the BOMZ racing SRIs any chance I get.
But even interior wise is pretty identical too. No woodgrain though.. lol

Absolutely, when I was first looking for cars you could tell which ones were owned my the old farts. Little or no mileage and the cars were land yatchs

Even if a modded car is too good to be true, it is probably fucked up somewhere along the way.

Not to use Dainfammous as an example, but if he wanted he could sell that car for tonnes of cash with the quality work he has done to it, but the minor inconveniences like defrost not working isnt worth the hassle for a DD.

Yeah, I agree too. I bought my accord from an old couple who were the original owners, with a folder full of maintenance receipts... they had taken it to the dealer for everything from timing belt to oil changes!

Swapped engines don't have to be trouble if the engine was in good shape and the work is done CORRECTLY. Too many people cheap out and buy a high mileage engine and take it to a shop that does the work for cheap because they don't know what they're doing.

Look at the swaps on here, Cocoa especially. The work was done correctly, and thus he has one hell of a racecar. Look on HT, there's tons of swapped Civics, Integras, etc. If the owner put forth the money that is required, they have a reliable car.

Note: Not saying that people on here that have trouble with their swaps are cheap. It happens even with the best parts and a good shop. I'm just saying in general.

True, although most people that swap engines and then sell the car, usually I've found has some nagging issue that is why they get frustrated and sell it to someone else, I'm not just talking about buying swapped cars either, buying someone elses' modded car unless you know the person or the shop doing the work, I've known too many people that bought "modded" cars that were ghetto rigged, or had cut springs, you name it, like dicorp said you just never know what you're getting into where someone else might have rushed or half assed one thing, say screwing a bolt into your suspension, and poof you're driving down the road and your suspension collapses, you just never know

Ok, time to clean the thread up. Finally some Pics of my new CL as promised. I took a few pics right after I got home with it. The wheels need cleaned, I'm gonna polish them and wax it, tint the windows, and put my stereo system in it, then I will post updated pics. Its a 97 2.2cl, 140k miles. Paid 3100 for it, and sold my 95 accord ex, 175k on it for 3300. Not bad to trade for and put $200 in my pocket! Its cool too because when I first looked at this car, I didn't realize that it had clear corners on it too. Also around the lighter lights up blue as does the sunroof button, not sure if that's stock.

On a side note, the car would flash the lights every time it was locked or unlocked, but all the sudden it stopped doing that... Not sure why is there a way to change that? It seems like it stopped ever since I changed out the battery to a stronger one in the remote. Its the factory keyless entry on it, also how do you get it to chirp? I searched for it but couldn't find it. I figure that you probly have to program that stuff into the remote or something.

^^^wow mike that is a pretty good deal you got there. factory fogs, clear headlights... seems like you got a good base to start modding from and it looks pretty clean minus the door dings i can see, and the ones that are probably there but can't tell from the pics
i love those chromed stockies too they look so much better than original.... wait actually they look way worse... wanna trade me for my regular stockies, and split the shipping cost?
but i absolutely dispise that cloth interior

are you attempting any kinda of theme with the car? since you are getting tint may i suggest a black and red theme, look at the user pjosh and his red cl for some ideas it looks insanely good.
oh and for the alarm chirp, here are the instructions

damn that's the second time i've had to quote that in the last 3 hours, and it's in a thread on the first page. if i have to post this one more time

Thanks! Yeah I couldn't believe how clean it was when I came to look at it, it has a few door dings, but then again what 12 year old car doesnt? Overall its really clean though, and it drives awesome, like brand new. The lady just got dinged for $700 for new tires right before she sold it too! I figured out how to get the chirp to work, but It only worked once. I think its pretty tempremental because only once in a while do the lights flash and I only got it to chirp once, maybe a loose connection or somethin I don't know yet I will have to investigate...

i still need to change the o2 sensors and do a tranny flush and maybe raise the car a little so its not so so low. but i think its time for me to sell her. my gf finally caved on me getting a motorcycle so im hoping i can get what i want without selling the car.

I've waxed it, polished the wheels, put my stereo, speakers, sub and amp in it, and done some other fixing/cleanup things to it like replacing a burned out foglight bulb, adjusting the headlight aim so they shine like they should, etc. We finally got some sunshine so I took a few pics, this car is really growing on me! It has such a different feel than my accord, the suspension is much stouter and it's just drives so much nicer. I will have it tinted by this weekend and post an updated pic. I thought I would also throw a couple pics of past cars I've owned just for the hell of it... the first one is my 98 Jeep cherokee sport, 4" Pro Comp Lift, 31" BFG A/Ts, etc. that I wish I had back!! damn 4.00/gal gas prices! and the second is my 93 civic, eibach springs, 17" enkeis, 5% tint, short shifter, strut brace, k&n intake, projectors, clears, etc.

The CL

Jeep

Civic
